Sole Surgeon (https://www.facebook.com/solesurgeonph) is a fast-growing premium shoe cleaning and restoration services brand in the Philippines. We currently operate 7 stores across Metro Manila, with plans to expand to 15–20 stores by the end of 2027.
As we scale, we are investing heavily in technology, systems, and process improvement to ensure efficient operations and consistently excellent service quality.
Background:
Sole Surgeon operates under a job shop production model, which is defined as a production system that builds custom, bespoke, or small-batch products according to unique client specifications.
We also operate a centralized production model, where all orders from our 7 mall-based stores are serviced at our production facility in Quezon City.
Combining these models creates significant operational complexity, particularly in production scheduling, workforce management, quality control, and on-time delivery.
To address these challenges, we developed our proprietary Production Control System (PCS) using Airtable, custom scripts, and automation technologies.
However, PCS is just the beginning. Our long-term vision is to build an integrated, company-wide ERP-like system covering production, sales, finance, HR, payroll, inventory, and other business functions.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to help design, develop, and improve our proprietary business systems, initially focusing on our Production Control System (PCS).
Our current technology stack primarily consists of Airtable as our database and backend platform (70% of development work), complemented by Progressive Web Applications or PWAs (30%) for frontend user interfaces.
This role goes beyond traditional programming. You will work closely with our operations team to understand actual workflows, identify inefficiencies, design system architecture, and translate business requirements into functional software solutions.
We strongly embrace AI-assisted software development and are looking for someone who enjoys using AI coding tools to accelerate development, debugging, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Airtable Development (70%): Design relational databases, establish table relationships, develop formulas, write custom JavaScript automation scripts, and build business workflows using Airtable.
- Frontend / PWA Development (30%): Develop and improve web-based applications and user interfaces that integrate with our Airtable backend.
- Systems Design & Process Improvement: Understand real-world business processes inside Sole Surgeon, identify system gaps, and translate operational needs into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
- AI-Assisted Development: Leverage modern AI coding tools to accelerate development while ensuring code quality and reliability.
- Business Systems Integration: Support the development of integrated applications across production, sales, finance, HR, payroll, and other departments.
Work Set-up:
- Paid Internship: 6,000 per month for full-time work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

- Location: Haven Building, Congressional Avenue Extension, Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City
- We are open to remote-working arrangement but the allowance will be lower and you would still be required to visit the office at least twice a month.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Computer Engineering, or a related degree.
- Strong programming fundamentals, preferably JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with relational databases, data modeling, SQL, APIs, and backend development concepts.
- Experience with Airtable is an advantage but not required. However, candidates must be willing and capable of quickly learning Airtable and its development environment.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to understand real-world business requirements.
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable learning new technologies independently.
Pay: Php6,000.00 per month
