About us

Established in 2017, Housing Hub was created to help people with disability find suitable, quality housing and support the development of an effective disability housing market. Originally an initiative of the Summer Foundation, we now operate as a social enterprise.

With thousands of properties listed across Australia, Housing Hub connects housing seekers and housing providers, making it easier for people with disability to find the right home and have choice and control over where they live and who they live with.

We are looking for a collaborative Digital Product Owner to take the reins of our core platform and its portals. Working closely with our Digital Product Manager, you’ll turn community insights and roadmaps into intuitive features that solve real problems.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day owner of our website and portals. Translate roadmap ideas into clear user journeys, precise acceptance criteria, and actionable user stories; balancing new features, technical debt, bug fixes, and support requests
  • Support and guide designers, engineers, and QA across distributed and offshore teams Facilitate engaging sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives to keep everyone aligned and inspired
  • Partner with QA to steer User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release rollouts, ensuring our platform remains stable, seamless, and reliable
  • Primary escalation point for support tickets, troubleshooting issues end-to-end to guarantee a frictionless user experience
  • Co-design with our community - connecting directly with housing seekers, families, and providers through research and co-design workshops
  • Track user analytics, explore market trends, and monitor product KPIs to drive iterative improvements that create real-world impact
  • Ensure features uphold the highest standards of data security, privacy, and WCAG accessibility
  • Step in to deputise for the Digital Product Manager when needed, foster an inclusive team culture, and pitch in with Friday customer support coverage (roughly once a month)

The successful person will have

  • 3+ years’ experience as a product owner, business analyst or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or another relevant field
  • Practical experience working day-to-day with software engineers, UX/UI designers and QA in an agile team (including distributed or offshore teams)
  • A track record of owning a product backlog and turning complex problems into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with user research and discovery
  • Experience running user acceptance testing and managing releases
  • Experience managing support tickets and incidents through root-cause resolution.

Nice to have

  • Experience with marketplace or multi-sided platforms.
  • Knowledge of the disability, NDIS or housing sectors.
  • Product owner certification, such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO).

Benefits of working with us
