About the Role

We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot secure network infrastructure supporting defence, surveillance, communication, and mission-critical systems.

The candidate will work closely with hardware, software, RF, embedded, and system integration teams to ensure reliable communication between servers, workstations, network devices, sensors, and deployed defence systems.

The role involves both in-house network support and field/customer-site deployment, including troubleshooting and commissioning at deployed locations when required.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN networks.

Configure and troubleshoot routers, Layer-2/Layer-3 switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Perform IPv4 addressing, subnetting, CIDR, network ID, broadcast ID, and gateway configuration.

Configure and troubleshoot static routing and OSPF.

Configure VLANs, trunking, STP, inter-VLAN routing, and network segmentation.

Configure firewall policies, ACLs, NAT/PAT, and secure network access.

Troubleshoot network issues using Ping, Traceroute, ARP, DNS, DHCP, Wireshark, and other diagnostic tools.

Configure and maintain basic network services including DHCP, DNS, and NTP.

Monitor network performance, availability, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity.

Support communication between servers, workstations, sensors, and other network-connected systems.

Integrate networking infrastructure with defence electronics, surveillance systems, sensors, command-and-control systems, and mission-critical platforms.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting at customer/field locations as required.

Participate in system integration, testing, commissioning, and deployment activities.

Coordinate with hardware, RF, embedded, software, and system engineering teams.

Maintain network diagrams, IP address plans, configuration records, and technical documentation.

Identify network vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security measures.

Ensure network configurations meet organizational security and operational requirements.

Be willing to travel to customer and field locations based on project requirements.

Required Technical Skills

Strong understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models.

Good knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 and subnetting.

Strong understanding of network ID, host ID, broadcast address, subnet mask, and default gateway.

Hands-on experience with routers and Layer-2/Layer-3 switches.

Knowledge of static routing and OSPF.

Good understanding of VLAN, trunking, STP, and inter-VLAN routing.

Basic-to-good knowledge of firewalls and ACLs.

Understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS.

Hands-on familiarity with Wireshark and network troubleshooting tools.

Basic understanding of network security and network segmentation.

Knowledge of wireless networking and access points.

Ability to read and prepare network topology diagrams and technical documentation.

Preferred Skills

CCNA certification or equivalent practical knowledge.

Experience with Cisco networking equipment.

Experience in enterprise, industrial, telecom, defence, or mission-critical networking environments.

Knowledge of VPN, IPsec, SSH, SNMP, Syslog, and network monitoring.

Exposure to Linux/Windows server networking.

Experience in network integration involving defence, aerospace, surveillance, industrial automation, telecom, or embedded systems.

Understanding of secure networks used in field-deployed or mission-critical environments.

Knowledge of virtualization or container networking is an advantage.

Educational Qualification

B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Diploma holders with strong hands-on networking experience may also be considered.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
