### **Description**
As a **Lead Mission Manager** at Impulse, you will oversee a portfolio of complex missions from contract award to orbital delivery. You will lead a high\-performing team, acting as the primary operational anchor for your group. You ensure technical rigor, consistent mission execution, and team scalability while serving as the final authority on mission\-level trades. This role will lead a small, focused team of Mission Managers executing a mix of commercial and civil space missions.### **Responsibilities**
* Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Mission Managers to ensure consistent mission execution * Provide operational oversight for a portfolio of complex mission campaigns, ensuring programmatic alignment during critical phases * Serve as the final authority on technical and programmatic trades that impact mission success * Establish and document departmental standards for mission processes, communications, and documentation * Partner with engineering leadership to resolve critical constraints and protect mission scope * Drive cross\-training initiatives to eliminate single points of failure across flight campaigns
### **Minimum Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical field * 5\+ years of industry experience, with 3\+ years in a technical leadership or program management role within an aerospace flight environment * Expertise in mission integration, launch campaigns, or spacecraft operations * Proven track record of managing diverse, cross\-functional engineering teams * Exceptional ability to communicate and resolve conflicts between technical and non\-technical stakeholders
### **Preferred Skills and Experience**
* Master’s degree in a technical field * Direct experience leading or managing NASA missions (e.g., flight projects, science instruments, or launch services) * Demonstrated breadth in mission environments, with experience across commercial and civil sectors * 8\+ years of demonstrated experience managing missions through the full lifecycle: from proposal to launch and on\-orbit operations * Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast\-paced startup environment * Demonstrated experience improving organizational processes to support increased mission cadence
**Additional Information:**
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case\-by\-case basis and may vary based on job\-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full\-time hires, you may also be eligible for long\-term incentives, in the **form of stock options**, and access to **medical, vision \& dental coverage** as well as **access to a 401(k) retirement plan**.
