Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SRE Engineer with strong operational expertise and hands-on programming and automation skills. The ideal candidate will manage large-scale distributed systems, improve production reliability, reduce operational toil, and develop automation scripts and REST APIs.
This is an individual contributor role requiring strong technical ownership, production troubleshooting, and practical software development experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage distributed systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Develop automation scripts and REST APIs using Python or other programming languages.
- Partner with application teams to improve SRE practices and operational readiness.
- Configure observability platforms such as Dynatrace, including dashboards, alerts, SLIs, and SLOs.
- Implement resiliency patterns, circuit breakers, failover strategies, and graceful degradation.
- Support AWS or other cloud platforms and optimize cloud costs using FinOps practices.
- Work with ROSA and Kubernetes-based container platforms.
- Analyze production issues, interpret code repositories, and implement engineering improvements.
- Identify repetitive operational tasks and automate them to reduce manual effort.
- Recommend architecture improvements and reliability best practices.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of relevant experience in SRE, DevOps, production operations, or reliability engineering.
- Strong hands-on Python programming and automation experience.
- Experience developing REST APIs and working with existing codebases.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and production environments.
- Experience with Dynatrace or similar observability platforms.
- Knowledge of resiliency engineering, circuit breakers, and failover mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or another cloud platform.
- Experience with ROSA, Kubernetes, or container orchestration platforms.
- Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and collaboration skills.
Important Requirements
- Genuine 8+ years of experience is required.
- Strong Python programming and API development skills are mandatory.
- Valid UAN is mandatory.
- Candidates must be available for background verification.
- Candidates should be comfortable travelling to Pune, Bangalore, or Gurgaon for one day for onboarding and laptop collection.
