JC Computing Vietnam is a software development company based in Ho Chi Minh City, developing practical technology solutions with a strong focus on the education sector.

Our main product, BINDER, is a multi-module education management and learning platform supporting web and mobile applications across a broad range of school operations.

As BINDER continues to grow in functionality and complexity, we are strengthening our Quality Control team and expanding our automated testing capability.

We are looking for a Mid-Level QA Automation Engineer who can contribute not only to testing features, but also to the design, establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our automation testing approach.

This role is expected to be approximately:

70% Automation Testing / 30% Manual Testing

Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation Testing – Primary Focus

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for BINDER web, mobile, API, and backend services.
• Participate in establishing and improving the product's overall test automation framework and strategy.
• Identify suitable test cases and workflows for automation based on risk, business priority, regression frequency, and system complexity.
• Build and maintain reusable automation components, utilities, test data, and common testing functions.
• Improve automation coverage across existing and newly developed BINDER modules.
• Integrate automated testing into the team's development and release workflow where appropriate.
• Review automation test results, investigate failures, and distinguish between application defects, test-script issues, and environment problems.
• Maintain existing automation suites and update scripts when application functionality or UI changes.
• Work with Developers and other QC team members to improve testability of the product.
• Contribute to automation standards, coding practices, documentation, and team knowledge sharing.
• Help identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, reliability, and regression coverage.

Manual Testing – Supporting Focus

• Perform manual functional, regression, integration, UI, and exploratory testing where automation is not appropriate or not yet available.
• Analyze business requirements, acceptance criteria, workflows, and designs before testing.
• Design and maintain test cases, test scenarios, checklists, and supporting QA documentation.
• Test BINDER functionality across web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
• Re-test resolved defects and conduct regression testing before releases.
• Support UAT and release validation where required.
• Ensure delivered functionality meets business, usability, UI, and functional expectations.

API, Database and Technical Testing

• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or equivalent.
• Validate API responses, business rules, authentication, error handling, and integration flows.
• Use SQL or database queries to validate data where required.
• Test integrations between BINDER modules and third-party systems.
• Support investigation of defects by reviewing logs, requests, responses, data, and system behaviour.

AI-Assisted QA and Productivity

• Use AI tools effectively and responsibly to support daily QA and automation work.
• Apply AI to improve productivity in areas such as:
• Test case generation and refinement
• Automation script development and troubleshooting
• Test data preparation
• Defect investigation and root-cause analysis
• Documentation and reporting
• Code review and script optimisation
• Requirement analysis and identifying potential edge cases
• Validate AI-generated outputs before using them in production work.
• Use AI as an assistant to improve speed and quality, while maintaining professional judgement, technical accuracy, and accountability.
• Continuously explore practical ways to use AI to improve the efficiency of QC and automation processes.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, UI/UX Designers, Product Owner, and other QC team members.
• Participate in Agile activities including sprint planning, daily meetings, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Provide QA input early during requirement analysis and feature design.
• Raise risks, unclear requirements, testability concerns, and quality issues early.
• Collaborate with other QC team members to improve both manual and automated testing practices.
• Share automation knowledge and assist other team members in improving their automation capability.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of software QA/QC experience across web, mobile, or enterprise applications.
• Practical hands-on experience with automation testing.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts, not only executing existing scripts.
• Experience with one or more automation technologies such as:
• Playwright
• Cypress
• Selenium
• Appium
• or equivalent automation frameworks
• Good understanding of automation framework structure, reusable test design, selectors, test data, assertions, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, SDLC, defect lifecycle, regression testing, and test design techniques.
• Experience with API testing using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development teams.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
• Ability to use AI tools efficiently and productively as part of day-to-day QA and automation work.
• Ability to use AI to assist with test design, automation scripting, troubleshooting, analysis, documentation, and productivity improvement while independently validating the output.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to investigate complex issues independently.
• Ability to balance automation work with manual testing based on project priorities.

Preferred Skills

The following would be considered strong advantages:

• Experience designing or helping establish an automation framework from an early stage.
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium in production projects.
• Experience integrating automation tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience testing large SaaS, ERP, education, finance, HR, or multi-module applications.
• Experience with Git and source-control workflows.
• Experience with performance or load testing.
• Experience with security testing or penetration testing.
• Penetration Testing certification or other recognised security-testing qualification.
• Understanding of cloud-based environments and distributed systems.
• Experience using AI-assisted development or testing tools in a professional software environment.

Communication

• Good written and verbal communication skills in Vietnamese and English.
• Able to read technical documentation and prepare clear test documentation and defect reports in English.
• Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.
