About the Role
- A luxury hospitality portfolio known for sophisticated escapes and unique guest experiences is seeking a hardworking, reliable, and energetic Maintenance Handyman to ensure that buildings, facilities, equipment, and outdoor areas are maintained in excellent working condition.
- The ideal candidate must be practical, hands-on, and solution-driven, with the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks, from general repairs and swimming pool maintenance to basic electrical work and fixing everyday items. Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of tools, equipment, and facilities.
- Carry out general handyman duties, including basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor building repairs.
- Maintain and repair swimming pools, including identifying and addressing minor maintenance issues.
- Attend to kitchen maintenance, including repairing cupboards, drawers, handles, taps, hinges, and other fixtures.
- Fix everyday items, including small household and maintenance items such as brooms, handles, and other basic equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
- Identify and troubleshoot maintenance problems and arrange specialist assistance when necessary.
- Perform general building and property maintenance to maintain a safe, clean, and presentable environment.
- Inspect tools and equipment regularly to ensure they are safe and in good working order.
- Maintain an organised inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
- Keep accurate records of completed repairs, servicing, and maintenance activities.
- Follow all health and safety procedures when carrying out maintenance tasks.
Experience and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general maintenance and handyman duties.
- Practical experience in basic electrical work, plumbing, and general repairs.
- Experience with swimming pool maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to repair kitchen fixtures, fittings, and everyday household items.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, and building maintenance.
- Good practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safe working procedures when using hand tools and electrical equipment.
- Ability to work independently, manage maintenance tasks, and respond to urgent requests.
- Hospitality, wine estate, hotel, or property maintenance experience will be advantageous.
- Must be hardworking, reliable, organised, and able to work well within a team.
