We’re looking for an IT Systems Engineer to help keep core technology services secure, reliable, and performing at their best.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, improving systems, and taking ownership of technical problems. You’ll work across Microsoft technologies, infrastructure, endpoints, networking, and cloud services, collaborating with colleagues across IT and the wider business.
The role offers strong technical exposure and the opportunity to develop toward Senior Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or IT Operations positions.
The Work
- Administer and support Windows-based systems, servers, and endpoints.
- Manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID environments.
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure, application, and connectivity incidents.
- Support Azure or AWS cloud services and related infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain laptops, desktops, servers, and network-connected devices.
- Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN, and Wi-Fi issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and group policies.
- Support endpoint management, patching, software deployment, and system updates.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security events.
- Maintain technical documentation, asset information, and configuration records.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and IT improvement projects.
- Identify recurring problems and implement preventative technical solutions.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, IT engineering, or a related role.
- Strong Microsoft Windows Server and desktop administration experience.
- Practical knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or another cloud platform.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, scripting, or automation.
- Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar tools.
- Understanding of endpoint management and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to different audiences.
- Microsoft, Azure, AWS, CompTIA, or ITIL certifications are advantageous.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
