IT Support Specialist

Delta is seeking a dependable, customer-focused IT Support Technician to provide day-to-day technical support for employees across office and in remote environments. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware, software, account access, peripherals, and basic network-related issues while delivering responsive, professional service. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, communicating clearly with users, documenting work accurately, and learning new technology in a collaborative IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide first-line technical support for end users by responding to help desk requests, diagnosing issues, and resolving problems related to computers, software, hardware, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, and user accounts.
· Use the ticketing system to open, update, prioritize, document, and close support requests in a timely and accurate manner.
· Communicate with users by phone, email, chat, remote support tools, or in person to gather information, explain solutions, and provide clear follow-up.
· Install, configure, test, deploy, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, peripherals, operating systems, business applications, and cloud services.
· Prepare workstations, user accounts, access rights, and security credentials for new employees and update or disable accounts as staffing changes occur.
· Support users at remote locations as needed, including troubleshooting connectivity, access, device, and application issues.
· Perform hardware and software upgrades, workstation replacements, equipment setup, and routine maintenance in accordance with IT standards.
· Assist with basic network administration tasks, system monitoring, endpoint maintenance, IT audits, security awareness, and compliance-related activities as assigned.
· Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment, hardware, software, and assigned assets.
· Prepare equipment for reuse, reassignment, or disposal in accordance with company policy.
· Document recurring issues, recommend process improvements, and help maintain IT procedures, knowledge base articles, and user guidance materials.
· Maintain current knowledge of supported technologies, cybersecurity practices, and internal IT procedures.
Required Qualifications
· Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications.
· At least two years of experience providing IT support in a Windows 10/11 networked environment.
· Proficiency with Windows 10/11, desktop applications, laptops, peripherals, printers, and common business software.
· Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing Windows 10/11Operating Systems, business applications, computer hardware, and peripherals.
· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple requests, and contribute effectively as part of a team.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including accurate documentation and record keeping.
· Willingness to learn new technologies and follow established IT standards, procedures, and security practices.
· Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. and perform workstation setup tasks that may require bending, reaching, crawling under desks, pushing carts, and carrying equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
· IT certifications applicable to desktop, mobile, or end-user support, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar certifications.
· Working knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, and software applications.
· Experience supporting users in a Microsoft 365 environment.
· Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, endpoint management, remote access tools, VDI, or virtualization.
· Experience configuring and supporting Autodesk software would be beneficial.
· Exposure to maintaining or supporting network equipment, servers, routers, firewalls, phone systems, or related infrastructure.
· Experience supporting remote users and multiple office locations.
Work Environment and Schedule
This is a full-time position based in Endwell, NY The role is primarily on-site, with occasional travel to remote offices or job sites as needed. Some after-hours or weekend support may be required for scheduled maintenance, urgent issues, or special projects.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is an hourly position with a pay range starting at $25 per hour depending on experience.
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and internal pay practices.
