We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our footwear department. Reporting directly to the Store Manager and working closely alongside a supporting supervisor, you will play a key role in leading and developing a team of up to 8 staff members while supporting the overall commercial and operational success of the department.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about retail leadership, customer experience, team development. Alongside daily shopfloor management, you will also contribute to weekly trade reporting, KPI analysis, operational planning, and talent development within the store leadership structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of a fast-paced dual-brand footwear department.
- Deliver exceptional customer service across both premium footwear brands.
- Assist in driving sales performance, KPIs, and department targets.
- Lead and motivate the team during both busy and quieter trading periods.
- Maintain strong product knowledge, including styles, features, pricing, and promotions.
- Stay up to date with seasonal trends and new product launches.
- Write weekly trade reports identifying performance opportunities, key focuses, and priorities for the forthcoming week.
- Support stock control and liaise with the Operations Manager regarding replenishment and stock requirements.
- Support staff training, coaching, and ongoing team development.
- Handle customer queries and problem-solving professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure the department remains organised, visually welcoming, and operationally efficient at all times.
- Create staff rotas while maintaining labour efficiency and operational standards.
- Act as a reliable and flexible keyholder when required.
- Work closely with senior management to support operational improvements and business strategy.
- Consistently uphold company policies, procedures, and brand standards while protecting the integrity of both brands.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ management or supervisory experience within retail or customer service, preferably within footwear or fashion retail.
- Strong leadership and team development abilities.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence working within a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
- Experience with cash handling and POS/computer systems.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
- Positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach with a strong work ethic.

Pay: £31,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
