App inventory, package/test apps, The App Packaging Specialist is responsible for building, testing, and deploying enterprise applications across Windows, iOS, and Android as part of the UEM → Intune modernization effort. This role performs end to end application inventory, analysis, packaging, and validation using MSIX, Win32, Intune wrapping, and mobile app formats. The specialist ensures applications are compliant with security policies, compatible with modern management tooling, and ready for deployment at scale through Intune and Mobile Application Management (MAM) configurations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting packaging issues, coordinating with application owners, maintaining a full application catalog, and supporting migration waves for a secure, stable, and predictable app deployment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement app packaging solutions tailored for iOS and Android environments, ensuring compatibility and compliance with platform standards.
  • Automate build processes using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell to streamline deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including software developers, system engineers, and business analysts—to gather requirements and translate them into scalable packaging strategies.
  • Manage version control systems like Git to track changes, facilitate collaboration, and maintain packaging integrity across multiple releases.
  • Conduct thorough testing of packaged applications to identify and resolve issues related to system compatibility, security vulnerabilities, or deployment failures.
  • Integrate app packages with enterprise systems such as Salesforce or Pegasystems to support business process automation and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of packaging procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Proven experience in mobile application development and deployment for iOS (using Xcode, Swift/Objective-C) and Android (using Android Studio, Java/Kotlin).
  • Strong understanding of app packaging tools such as Apple’s.ipa files and Android’s.apk/.aab formats.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of enterprise solutions architecture involving Service-oriented architecture (SOA), system design principles, and systems integration techniques.
  • Experience working with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases; understanding of SQL queries is essential.
  • Solid grasp of IT infrastructure components including cloud security (AWS/Azure), network protocols (VPN, DNS), firewalls, load balancing, virtualization (VMware), and system administration across Windows/Linux environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues related to app deployment, configuration management, or network connectivity efficiently.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate with diverse teams on technical requirements and project timelines.
