About the Role
We are looking to hire a Senior Project Manager in Toronto, ON to lead a complex, high-impact infrastructure initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of a critical network, enterprise compute, and data center transition project, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will act as the driving force aligning core business units, network engineering teams, and external infrastructure vendors. We are seeking an individual with a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, infrastructure lifecycles, and senior stakeholder governance. The ideal candidate doesn't just track tasks—they deeply understand the critical paths, risks, and technical milestones associated with routing, switching, data center migrations, and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Governance & Planning: Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with senior management. Create comprehensive project plans, including detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) for data center migrations and network hardware refreshes.
- Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Lead project processes for external vendor transitions (including creation of RFP, vendor proposal analysis, contract definition, and SLA alignment), circuit provisions, and colocation facility migrations.
- Execution & Technical Coordination: Coordinate with network engineers and data center operations teams to document and manage hardware refresh cycles, SD-WAN rollouts, server migrations, and virtualization deployments.
- Risk & Change Management: Identify, mitigate, and track project risks, assumptions, and dependencies. Establish strict change management frameworks to ensure high-availability failovers and low-risk scheduled maintenance windows.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years as an IT Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects specifically within enterprise networking, data center migrations, or telecom infrastructure environments.
- Technical & Domain Awareness: Strong foundational understanding of core network and data center concepts, including routing/switching protocols, SD-WAN, firewalls, SAN, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and physical data center fit-outs.
- Frameworks & Tools: High proficiency in Project Management methodologies (PMP certification is highly preferred) and Agile/Scrum delivery models. Advanced skills using project management software (such as MS Project or Jira) alongside MS Excel and MS Visio.
- Education: Completion of a University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Outstanding communication abilities with a proven track record of managing and influencing diverse, cross-functional technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Pay: $100.00-$120.00 per hour
