This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader to take ownership of shift operations, driving safety, quality and production performance while developing and supporting high-performing teams. Working closely with Production, Maintenance and Technical colleagues, you'll play a key role in ensuring efficient operations and continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop production teams, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality operations throughout your shift. [Shift Manager | Word]
  • Monitor production performance against output, quality and cost targets, taking action to resolve operational issues and minimise downtime. [Shift Manager | Word]
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance within a heavy manufacturing environment. [Shift Manager | Word]
  • Coordinate effectively with maintenance, technical and operational teams to ensure smooth production activities and successful shift handovers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, quality and operational performance.
  • Bring proven supervisory or shift management experience within metals, steel, foundry or other heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production setting.

Desirable

  • Prove experience in a Shift Manager role
  • Technical or engineering qualification.
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with production planning systems and manufacturing KPIs.
