About us
Lea and Jonas scaled two of Europe's leading construction tech companies - Capmo and alcemy - and saw firsthand the challenges holding the industry back. Now they're tackling the root cause: the 50% of construction work still lost to manual data handling.
Kuro is building the AI foundation for construction. We're reimagining how construction professionals get work done and make decisions by leveraging AI to augment back-office workflows and make core data accessible. We are not pursuing marginal improvements, but a step change for construction.
After one year on the market, leading construction enterprises with a combined annual construction volume of >€40 billion use Kuro every day to automate workflows and make faster, better decisions. Backed by an €10 million seed round, we already process more than 1 million pages every month and expect that volume to grow 10x over the next six months.
We are 15 people based in Berlin. You will join a group of technical ex-founders and builders who are ambitious and kind.

The Opportunity
You'll own new AI automation use cases end-to-end - from understanding the customer's world to shipping production-ready solutions on Kuro's platform within weeks. This is not a pure backend role, and not classic consulting either. It's a high-ownership position where you work directly with enterprise stakeholders to build something real.
What You’ll Do

Turn ambiguous customer problems into scoped, buildable solutions — then ship them

Build with modern applied AI (LLMs, agentic workflows, vision models, embeddings, heuristics) to solve high-impact problems

Design data pipelines for document ingestion, extraction, validation, and orchestration on top of Kuro's platform abstractions

Identify recurring patterns across projects and codify them into reusable templates

Balance speed, accuracy, and pragmatism — and know when to keep a human in the loop

Help shape the technical direction of both the product and the company
As one of our first forward deployed engineering hires, you'll have significant influence on how we build, what we build, and how fast we move.
Past Projects You Would Have Been Part Of
- LLM extraction agent for interior estimation
Built a PoC that extracts quantities from unstructured documents, saving ~4 days of work per project.
- Subcontractor KYC automation
Developed an internal app to automate KYC checks, reducing manual effort by ~50%.
- LLM-based Bill of Quantities parsing
Created a parser that structures complex BoQs automatically, saving hours per day for procurement managers.
- Construction ontologies with enterprise customers
Co-developed interior and shell construction ontologies that power downstream AI automation.
