Communications & Fundraising Coordinator

L’Arche Arnprior | Arnprior, Ontario

L’Arche Arnprior is looking for a creative, relational, and highly organized Communications & Fundraising Coordinator to help tell the story of our community and grow the relationships and financial support that sustain our mission.

At L’Arche Arnprior, we believe in communities where people experience dignity, belonging, meaningful relationships, and opportunities to flourish. Our Communications & Fundraising Coordinator plays an important role in helping others encounter that community – and discover meaningful ways to become part of it.

This is a role for someone who can tell a beautiful story and build a solid fundraising plan. Someone who enjoys relationships but also appreciates goals, data, systems, deadlines, and follow-through. Someone who understands that fundraising is deeply relational – and that generating financial support is an important measure of success.

What You’ll Do

Working with the Business Administration Manager, Executive Director, and colleagues across the organization, you will lead the day-to-day communications and fundraising work of L’Arche Arnprior.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing annual communications and fundraising plans.
  • Managing our website, social media, newsletters, and other organizational communications.
  • Finding and sharing authentic stories from across the life of L’Arche Arnprior.
  • Creating written, photographic, video, digital, and promotional content.
  • Growing and diversifying our donor community through acquisition, retention, re-engagement, and recurring giving.
  • Planning and implementing fundraising campaigns, appeals, events, and other initiatives.
  • Cultivating relationships with existing and prospective donors.
  • Identifying opportunities for major gifts, legacy giving, corporate support, sponsorships, and other forms of giving.
  • Researching funding opportunities and preparing grant applications and reports.
  • Maintaining our donor database and accurate donor records.
  • Preparing and issuing charitable tax receipts and ensuring donations are acknowledged promptly.
  • Tracking fundraising and communications results and reporting on progress toward established goals.
  • Building relationships with businesses, funders, community organizations, donors, volunteers, and other partners.

What Success Looks Like

This role has real goals and accountability. Together with the Business Administration Manager, you will establish annual targets and measure progress in areas such as:

  • Fundraising revenue
  • Donor growth and retention
  • Monthly and recurring giving
  • Grants submitted and funding secured
  • Fundraising campaign performance
  • Donor engagement and stewardship
  • Communications reach and engagement
  • Accuracy and timeliness of donor administration and charitable receipting

We care about how results are achieved as much as the results themselves. Our communications should represent people with dignity and authenticity. Our fundraising should build trust rather than rely on pressure or manipulation. And our relationships with donors and partners should reflect genuine hospitality and gratitude.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • A strong and engaging writer and communicator.
  • Comfortable developing relationships with donors, funders, businesses, and community partners.
  • Motivated by goals and able to translate ideas into concrete plans and results.
  • Creative and able to recognize a good story or opportunity.
  • Highly organized and attentive to administrative detail.
  • Comfortable working with databases, digital communications, websites, social media, and related technology.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, relationships, and priorities.
  • Thoughtful about consent, privacy, dignity, and how people's stories are represented.
  • Collaborative, curious, self-directed, and reliable.
  • Comfortable moving between creative work, relationship-building, fundraising strategy, and detailed administration.

Experience in fundraising, communications, donor development, grant writing, marketing, community engagement, or a related field would be an asset. We are also interested in people whose combination of experience, skills, creativity, and relationships could translate successfully into this role.
