Senior Business Analyst – Supplemental Insurance Integration
We’re working with a national insurance organization looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a major acquisition and integration initiative within its Supplemental & Group Benefits business.
This individual will work across business and technology teams to understand existing processes, applications, data and product requirements associated with supplemental insurance products. The BA will play an important role in discovery, requirements gathering and helping determine how acquired business capabilities and processes will integrate into the existing organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders, SMEs and technology teams
- Gather, document and refine functional and business requirements
- Perform current-state and future-state analysis
- Document business processes, workflows, business rules and system dependencies
- Support intake and triage of business and technology requests
- Identify gaps between existing and acquired systems and processes
- Assist with data mapping, system integration and conversion requirements
- Translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories for technical teams
- Work with product owners, developers, data teams and QA throughout implementation
- Define acceptance criteria and support testing and UAT
- Assist with data validation and reconciliation during conversions
- Track requirements, decisions, risks, issues and dependencies
- Help ensure continuity of critical insurance processes throughout the transition
Desired Background
- Strong Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst experience within insurance
- Experience with supplemental health, Accident & Health, voluntary benefits or group benefits
- Knowledge of products such as accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, disability and group life
- Strong requirements gathering, discovery and process-mapping experience
- Experience working between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Understanding of insurance policy, billing, claims, enrollment or product administration processes
- Experience supporting system conversions, migrations, acquisitions or large integration initiatives is highly desirable
- Experience with data mapping, reconciliation and UAT
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- SQL or data analysis skills

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
