**Software Engineer (Full\-Time)**

Location: Augustine Heights, QLD Experience: Minimum 3\+ years Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to support the development, enhancement, and commercialisation of specialised software solutions for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) sector in Australia.

The position has a dual focus:

* **Evaluation and enhancement of existing software solutions** currently available in the market for NDIS service providers. * **Design and development of a proprietary NDIS software platform** tailored to business needs, with future scalability for international markets, particularly India.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in establishing innovative, scalable, and secure software systems that support operational efficiency and compliance within the NDIS framework, while also contributing to the organisation’s long\-term technology strategy and global expansion.

**Position Objective / Purpose**

The Software Engineer will be responsible for analysing user requirements, designing system architecture, developing and testing software solutions, and ensuring performance, security, and scalability. The role is essential to support the company’s transition from using third\-party solutions to building an in\-house, market\-ready NDIS software product.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Research, analyse and evaluate existing NDIS software systems to identify limitations, inefficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement * Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, define, and document software and system requirements based on business and compliance needs * Design and develop software architecture, frameworks, and technical solutions for NDIS\-focused applications * Develop, test, debug, and maintain high\-quality application code in accordance with established standards and methodologies * Integrate third\-party APIs, services, and external systems where required * Perform system testing, validation, and quality assurance to ensure software meets functional and performance requirements * Develop and maintain technical documentation including system designs, specifications, and user manuals * Ensure software security through implementation of best practices, including data protection, encryption, and risk mitigation strategies * Provide technical leadership and guidance in system design, development methodologies, and technology selection * Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and standards * Support deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of software applications * Analyse user feedback and system performance data to enhance product functionality and user experience * Assist in the localisation and adaptation of software solutions for international markets, including India * Estimate development timelines, costs, and resource requirements for software projects

**Mobile \& Application Development Responsibilities**

* Design and develop mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms * Build cross\-platform applications using frameworks such as Flutter * Implement responsive and user\-friendly UI/UX designs * Manage application deployment, updates, and version control across app stores * Optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability

**Required Skills \& Experience**

* Minimum 3\+ years of relevant professional experience as a Software Engineer * Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C\#, PHP) * Experience in full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, and deployment * Experience with system architecture and scalable application development * Knowledge of database systems, APIs, and cloud\-based environments * Experience in mobile application development (Android/iOS or cross\-platform frameworks like Flutter) * Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices * Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and troubleshooting skills * Excellent communication and technical documentation abilities

**Preferred Skills**

* Experience in healthcare, disability services, or NDIS\-related systems (highly desirable) * Experience in SaaS product development and commercialisation * Knowledge of international software deployment or localisation strategies

Job Type: Full\-time

Pay: $80,000\.00 – $90,000\.00 per year
