About Lilac & Willow
Lilac & Willow is an independent florist based at Battlers Green Farm in Radlett, creating flowers for everyday occasions, weddings and events. Our team combines floral expertise with a personal approach to customer service.
We have recently launched our luxury faux flower studio, offering extraordinary artificial flowers and arrangements to purchase or hire. We are now looking for someone to grow this new part of the business, primarily through online sales.
The role
You will take a hands-on role in building our faux flowers online business: attracting customers, turning interest into sales and ensuring orders reach customers efficiently. Working closely with the team, you will develop practical marketing and fulfilment processes that suit a small, growing business.
You must have experience marketing and operating a small online retail business, with a clear understanding of both digital growth and the logistics of selling and distributing physical products.
Key responsibilities
- Grow online sales: Develop a focused growth plan, identify target customers and test products, promotions and sales channels to increase revenue and repeat purchases.
- Manage digital marketing: Plan and deliver social media content, email campaigns and seasonal promotions. Use relevant channels such as Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest, alongside paid advertising and SEO where appropriate.
- Improve the online shop: Keep product listings, images and descriptions accurate and engaging. Improve the shopping journey so customers can find products and complete purchases easily.
- Coordinate fulfilment and distribution: Work with the team to manage stock availability, order processing, suitable packaging, dispatch and delivery. Liaise with suppliers and couriers, monitor costs and resolve delivery or returns issues.
- Measure results: Track online sales, website conversion and marketing performance. Use the findings to prioritise activity, manage agreed budgets and report clearly on progress.
- Develop new opportunities: Research competitors and customer trends, and recommend relevant collections, partnerships or additional online sales channels.
Essential experience and skills
- Proven experience growing or managing a small ecommerce or online retail business selling physical products, with examples of the sales or marketing results you achieved.
- Practical digital marketing experience, including social media management, content creation, email marketing and customer acquisition.
- Experience using an ecommerce platform and managing product listings, promotions and the online customer journey.
- A working understanding of stock control, packaging, order fulfilment, courier services, delivery costs and returns.
- Confidence using sales and marketing data to assess results, control costs and decide what to improve.
- Strong organisation and communication skills, with the initiative to work independently and manage priorities within a part-time role.
Useful additional experience
Experience with a visually led brand in interiors, homewares, lifestyle or floristry would be an advantage. Familiarity with paid social, Google Ads, analytics, product photography or influencer partnerships would also be useful.
What success looks like
Over the six-month contract, you will help establish a clear online growth plan, deliver campaigns that generate measurable sales and put reliable order fulfilment processes in place. Priorities and targets will be agreed with the business, with a focus on profitable growth and a positive customer experience.
This is an opportunity to help shape a newly launched business and see the direct impact of your ideas and work.
