About Us
LiveLogic is a digital learning agency specialising in bespoke, interactive eLearning. Our proprietary LiveLearn framework enables us to create highly customised learning modules for global clients.
We’re expanding our development team and looking for a developer to help build new products, develop our web platforms and digital tools, and maintain and extend our LiveLearn framework.
Our work spans existing systems and new projects, including a web-based platform already in development for creating, managing, and delivering digital learning experiences.
The Role
You’ll work with directors, learning designers, and other developers across a range of projects, helping us deliver reliable, intuitive products and maintain the systems that support our client work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of web platforms and digital tools.
- Building intuitive browser-based interfaces for creating, organising, previewing, and publishing content.
- Developing back-end services using Laravel (PHP 8+).
- Creating and maintaining reusable APIs and data integrations using REST, GraphQL, JSON, and XML.
- Building interactive front-end interfaces using Vue.js or React, where appropriate.
- Designing and optimising database schemas for users, projects, and digital content.
- Maintaining, improving, and documenting our LiveLearn front-end framework, built with JavaScript, jQuery, LESS, Bootstrap, XML, and Gulp.
- Deploying and maintaining cloud-based systems on AWS and DigitalOcean.
- Ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and performant.
- Writing tests, participating in code reviews, and maintaining clear technical documentation.
- Providing support, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements for existing systems.
- Keeping up to date with relevant technologies and development best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of PHP and Laravel.
- Familiarity with Vue.js or React for building interactive web interfaces.
- Good knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), with confidence working in both custom frameworks and modern libraries.
- Experience with front-end build tools such as Gulp, Webpack, or Vite.
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as LESS or Sass, responsive design principles, and Bootstrap.
- Experience designing and optimising MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.
- Understanding of REST APIs, XML, and JSON data handling.
- Experience deploying to and managing AWS environments.
- Understanding of authentication and authorisation, including tools and approaches such as OAuth, JWT, and Laravel Breeze or Jetstream.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, and LMS integration.
- Experience building drag-and-drop or WYSIWYG editors.
- Experience integrating AI tools, libraries, or APIs.
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility guidelines.
- Experience with jQuery and Node.js.
- Experience with DigitalOcean and AWS services such as S3, RDS, EC2/ECS, and CloudFront.
- A background in learning technology, SaaS, or content management platforms.
- Experience improving application and server security.

- Location: Remote, ideally within easy reach of Derby for occasional in-person collaboration. Our office is in Castle Ashby, Northamptonshire.
