The client is seeking an organised and proactive **Production Planner** to join our operations team. This is a key role responsible for planning and coordinating forestry harvesting machinery, equipment, and third\-party contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production across multiple sites.
The successful candidate will oversee production scheduling, maintenance planning, resource allocation, and operational performance while ensuring machinery availability aligns with production demands.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and prioritise equipment to maximise operational efficiency and productivity. * Coordinate daily operational requirements with site management and supervisory teams. * Determine manpower and equipment requirements to meet production targets. * Develop and manage production schedules, adjusting plans to accommodate changing conditions and operational demands. * Coordinate production workflows to ensure smooth and efficient operations. * Plan and manage fuel requirements to support harvesting activities. * Organise and oversee machinery movements between sites, ensuring timely deployment and operational effectiveness. * Monitor production performance and maintain relevant KPI reporting. * Manage maintenance schedules and planned downtime in line with manufacturer recommendations and production requirements. * Respond to equipment defects and breakdowns, ensuring issues are addressed promptly. * Identify potential production delays and implement solutions to minimise disruption. * Support inventory management and reporting activities.
Health \& Safety
* Maintain up\-to\-date knowledge health and safety policies and procedures. * Promote and support compliance with forestry industry safety standards and operational best practices.
About You
* Experience working within a planning, scheduling, or production environment. * Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. * Excellent problem\-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. * Effective interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and other IT systems. * Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. * Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement. * Strong team\-working skills. * Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
Desirable Skills \& Experience
* Experience working alongside plant service or maintenance teams. * Experience introducing or implementing software systems. * Knowledge of forestry, harvesting, heavy plant, or related operational environments.
