About The Position
One of our operating companies, Centrered IT, is looking for a Finance Officer in Canberra. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working across a broad range of finance responsibilities while partnering closely with operational teams and leadership
Reporting to the Finance Controller, you’ll work closely with the CEO, Client Success Team, and wider finance function, taking ownership across a broad range of financial responsibilities.
No two days will be the same as you support everything from billing and payroll to month-end processes, compliance, reporting, and finance projects that help improve the way the business operates.
Responsibilities:
- Managing accounts receivable, client billing, and debtor collections
- Processing accounts payable and supplier payments
- Preparing weekly payroll and superannuation payments
- Reconciling bank accounts and corporate credit cards
- Responding to client account enquiries
- Assisting with month-end processing, journals, and general ledger reconciliations
- Supporting BAS, PAYG, TPAR, and other compliance obligations
- Assisting with audit preparation and financial reporting requirements
- Contributing to finance improvement initiatives and special projects
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Skills Required:
- Relevant tertiary or CIT qualification in Accounting and Finance.
- Around 5+ years’ experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts, or Accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and taxation fundamentals
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Experience using financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
