SALES ENGINEER
Tulsa, Oklahoma | Full-Time, On-Site | 30% Travel
About Maccor
Maccor designs and manufactures high-performance battery and cell testing systems at our headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since 1987, our equipment has supported customers working at the forefront of battery research, development, manufacturing, and product innovation.
We believe in building equipment around quality, performance, accuracy, and reliability. Our systems are manufactured in Tulsa, and we are proud to work with local vendors and build long-term, sustainable relationships.
About the Position
Maccor is seeking a Sales Engineer to help develop new business while supporting and growing relationships with existing customers.
This isn't a typical sales position. You might talk with a battery chemist at 8:00 AM, a rocket scientist at 8:30 AM, and a product engineer at a Fortune 100 company at 9:00 AM. Our customers span virtually every industry involved in developing, manufacturing, or using batteries, which means the applications - and the technical challenges - are constantly changing.
The ideal candidate is technically curious, comfortable talking with engineers and scientists, and capable of translating a customer's testing requirements into the right Maccor solution.
You'll be selling technical equipment where performance, reliability, and long-term value matter. Success requires understanding the customer's application, communicating technical capabilities clearly, and developing relationships based on trust rather than simply competing on price.
If you want to work at the intersection of technology, engineering, batteries, and sales, this is an opportunity to do it.
What You'll Do
Develop New Business
· Identify and pursue new opportunities for Maccor battery testing systems.
· Generate leads through direct outreach, email, industry conferences, referrals, and customer visits.
· Develop relationships with engineers, scientists, researchers, manufacturers, and other technical decision-makers.
· Present and demonstrate Maccor systems, explaining technical capabilities and customer benefits.
· Follow opportunities from initial contact through quotation and order.
Manage Customer Accounts
· Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers.
· Respond to RFQs and technical sales inquiries.
· Work directly with customers to understand their applications, specifications, and testing requirements.

· Manage leads, quotations, customer activity, and sales opportunities through Maccor's CRM system.
· Follow up with customers throughout the sales process and after the sale.
Become a Product and Industry Resource
· Develop a strong understanding of Maccor's battery testing systems and their applications.
· Stay informed about battery technology, energy-storage trends, competitors, and emerging testing requirements.
· Work closely with Maccor's engineering and technical teams to develop solutions for customer applications.
· Provide accurate and timely responses to customer questions.
· Support other members of the sales team as needed.
What We're Looking For
· Strong technical aptitude and an interest in understanding how things work.
· Ability to communicate comfortably with engineers, scientists, technicians, purchasing professionals, and business leaders.
· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
· Self-motivated and comfortable developing new business.
· Ability to understand technical specifications and customer requirements.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
· Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily domestically and occasionally internationally.
· Ability to safely lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 lb.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Must be a U.S. citizen because access to certain government facilities is required.
· Possess a valid driver's license.
Experience that would be especially valuable
· Electrical or electronics background.
· Engineering or other technical degree or equivalent technical experience.
· Technical sales or sales engineering experience.
· Battery, battery testing, energy storage, electronics, or test-and-measurement experience.
Battery-industry experience is a plus, but it is not required. We're more interested in finding someone with the technical aptitude, communication skills, curiosity, and drive to learn the industry.
