A well-established manufacturing company in the food and beverage processing industry is seeking an experienced Process Operator to join its production team. This role is responsible for operating and overseeing production processes to achieve product quality targets, maximize throughput, minimize waste, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure production plans are achieved while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Conduct routine process checks, quality inspections, and production reporting.
- Manage product changeovers and equipment start-ups/shutdowns.
- Support first-line maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.
- Lead and motivate production team members to achieve operational targets.
- Drive housekeeping, hygiene, GMP, HACCP, and health & safety compliance.
- Identify production losses, process deviations, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with coaching, training, and performance management of operators.
- Maintain accurate production and operational documentation.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric with Mathematics and Science or N3 qualification.
- National Certificate in Food Processing or Diploma in Production Management advantageous.
- 2-3 years' experience in a food, beverage, dairy, or related manufacturing environment.
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, health and safety regulations, HACCP, ISO standards, and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot process issues and make sound operational decisions.
