Job Summary:
Neil Mersey Maritime Services Ltd. is seeking a Marine Logistics Manager to manage the movement and availability of materials, equipment, supplies, and support resources required for marine activities. The role will connect vessel requirements with shore-side logistics, ensuring operational needs are planned and fulfilled efficiently.
What You'll Do:
- Manage logistics requirements supporting vessels and marine operations
- Plan the movement of equipment, materials, supplies, and operational resources
- Coordinate deliveries and collections around vessel and port schedules
- Work with marine teams to understand upcoming supply and logistics requirements
- Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, agents, and other service partners
- Monitor the availability of essential items required for scheduled activities
- Respond to changing vessel requirements and time-sensitive logistics needs
- Coordinate storage, handling, and onward movement of marine supplies
- Maintain visibility of orders, deliveries, and outstanding logistics requirements
- Review logistics performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability
- Provide management with updates on supply movements, priorities, and operational constraints
Requirements:
- Experience in marine logistics, shipping, supply chain, transport, freight, port services, or a related operational environment
- Strong logistics planning and coordination abilities
- Good understanding of supply and transportation processes
- Ability to manage changing schedules and operational priorities
- Confident communication with suppliers, contractors, and operational teams
- Strong organisation and practical problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with logistics records, schedules, and business systems
- Previous management experience is advantageous, although experienced logistics professionals ready to progress will also be considered
- Maritime, logistics, supply chain, transport, or related qualifications are helpful but not essential
