Masek Golf Car Company is hiring an experienced, hands-on service leader to manage and expand parts and service operations at our Kansas City branch. You will lead two mobile technicians and one in-shop technician. Your immediate priorities will be developing the team, coordinating service at area golf courses, strengthening parts support, and improving department performance. You will report to Andy, our Kansas City-based Sales Manager, and work closely with him on staffing, customer relationships, and growth. As the branch develops, this position is intended to expand into Branch Manager, with responsibility for daily operations across parts, service, warranty, retail sales, and local marketing.
Automotive dealership experience is strongly encouraged. Golf car experience is not required, and hands-on training will be provided.
We need someone who understands mechanical work, knows how to develop employees, and follows through on improvements.

About Masek Golf Car Company
Masek's is a family owned and operated distributorship that has been in business since 1930, and involved in Golf Cars since 1994. We have established Yamaha Golf Car distribution facilities in Nebraska, Denver, and New Mexico, and are now expanding our Kansas City operation in Bonner Springs. You will help build this branch with support from an established network and experienced colleagues. Many Masek employees have been with us for 15, 25, and even 35+ years. We are approaching this hire with that same long-term outlook, and expect you to build a workplace culture that supports long-term careers for your employees.
.
What you will do
- Manage mobile and shop service. Schedule technician routes, prioritize customer needs, coordinate repairs, and balance urgent problems with preventive maintenance. Our primary customers are golf courses in the KC Metro area.
- Develop the team. Coach employees, identify training needs, hire/fire/recruit as the operation grows, and establish clear expectations for productivity, repair quality, and customer service.
- Improve department results. Monitor labor sales, technician productivity, parts margins, expenses, turnaround times, and repair quality. Use operating reports to identify and implement improvements.
- Build customer relationships. Communicate with golf course personnel, set realistic expectations, resolve concerns, and deliver on commitments.
- Provide hands-on technical support. Personally diagnose and repair equipment when needed. Visit golf courses to help field technicians solve difficult mechanical or electrical problems and bring units back to the shop when appropriate.
- Support deliveries and transportation. Transport golf cars, assist with fleet deliveries, and help install tops and accessories on-site, including outdoor work, until these can be delegated.
- Oversee branch parts operations. Work with Parts Management in Nebraska HQ to optimize purchasing, receiving, inventory accuracy, pricing, and availability while controlling excess and obsolete stock.
- Facilitate warranty and documentation. Keep repair orders accurate, ensure timely warranty submissions, and look for opportunities to maximize claims.
- Maintain a safe, organized operation. Establish practical processes for shop workflow, tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
This role requires someone who enjoys both managing people and doing the work. You should be comfortable reviewing department results, coaching a technician, troubleshooting at a customer’s course, and helping complete a delivery.
.
What we are looking for
- Experience managing or supervising a service department, repair shop, or technician team.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, including the ability to use technical documentation and service information.
- Demonstrated success developing employees and completing projects that improved an operation.
- Working knowledge of parts operations, repair orders, and departmental financial performance.
- Strong organization, customer communication, and dependable follow-through.
- Ability to use dealership or service management software and operating reports.
- Willingness to learn retail sales and take on broader business responsibilities.
- A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and confidence traveling to customer sites and towing trailers.
Service Managers, Assistant Service Managers, and Shop Foremen with meaningful leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience in automotive, equipment, powersports, or similar service businesses can translate well. Yamaha product training and technical support are available.
.
Growth into branch management
Our goal over the next couple of years is to grow toward three mobile technicians and three shop technicians, supported by stronger parts and service processes, with more Service growth to follow. We also plan to introduce retail golf car sales, currently targeted for approximately 12–18 months from now. You would initially learn and personally perform the retail sales role. As volume supports it, you would help hire and manage a dedicated salesperson. We believe that performing the work first-hand, even for a short while, gives managers the best ability to coach and lead a department.
Over time, you would assume broader responsibility for the branch while Andy focuses on wholesale and fleet business across our network. Advancement will depend on demonstrated performance and business growth. In 5-6 years, you will be THE key person at the dealership managing all day-to-day activities. You and Andy together will be running a staff of approximately 15-20 people and an exciting and growing mid-size business. We want a trusted colleague who contributes ideas, develops people, and is motivated to help build this operation over the long term.
.
Schedule, travel, and family flexibility
- Primarily Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with occasional days extending to 6 p.m.
- Occasional Saturday work for customer needs and deliveries. No Sunday work.
- Some early morning starts when needed, though these are not routine.
- Occasional overnight travel, averaging approximately one night per month.
- A couple of training trips to our Nebraska headquarters may require three to four nights away per trip.
Family matters here. We want you at the tee-ball games, dance recitals, band concerts, and football games. We work together to arrange coverage around important family and personal commitments. People with happy work/life balances are better teammates, better with customers, and better leaders.
You will have independence, supportive management, and a team that values dependable work and enjoys working together.
.
