Position: Support 5 (Trainer)
Reports To: HR Manager
Band: Production Associate Band P05
Location: Lexington, NC FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Operation: C Box Supervisory: None
Position Summary: The Trainer role is responsible for designing and conducting work-related training and development programs to improve individual skills. May analyze organizational training needs or evaluate training effectiveness. They provide expertise through technical knowledge and informal leadership to assist human resources department.

Essential Functions:

In-person attendance.

Communicate with dignity and respect to other team members.

Direct and perform on-the-job training of team members in the department.

Drive safe behavior and safety initiatives per policy.

Present information with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.

Obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.

Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities or program effectiveness.
-
Design, plan, organize, and direct orientation and training programs for employees.
-
Evaluate modes of training delivery, such as in-person or virtual, to optimize training effectiveness, training costs, or environmental impacts.

Supports, maintains and sustains 6S initiatives.
-
Champion Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS).

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge and Experience:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Read tape measures, measure parts, read order tickets.
-
Knowledge of procedures for the safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals and materials.

Understanding of decimal/fraction/metric calculation and conversion.

Learn to identify cabinet profiles and colors involved in cabinet manufacturing.

Utilizes electronic email & document management software.

Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials such as wood glue, requiring eye protection.

Exposure to sounds over 85 dB, requiring ear protection.
