Position:Marketing & Brand Manager - Glasgow

Location: Glasgow HQ

Job Type: Full time, permanent (37.5h per week, Monday to Friday)

Salary:£38,000 to £40,000 per annum DOE

Purpose of Role:

The Marketing and Brand Manager develops and delivers marketing activity for Matthew Algies portfolio of coffee brands and Espresso Warehouse. The role strengthens brand positioning, builds customer engagement and supports commercial growth through clear brand plans, effective campaigns and a consistent customer experience.

Working with the Head of Marketing, the role translates customer and market insight into practical marketing activity. It combines brand planning with hands-on delivery, ensuring campaigns, content, events and product launches reflect each brands identity, values and sustainability commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of brand assets, marketing materials and customer communications, ensuring they are accurate, up to date and consistent with brand guidelines.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing and relevant sales leaders to develop and deliver an annual marketing plan, with clear priorities, timings, budgets and measures of success across coffee, equipment and services.
  • Develop brand positioning, messaging and communications plans that clearly explain each brands offer and support agreed commercial objectives.
  • Monitor customer needs, market trends and competitor activity, using findings to identify opportunities and inform marketing plans.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate campaigns across digital, print, PR and events, with clear briefs, appropriate channel choices and measurable objectives.
  • Work with sales, trade marketing, design and product colleagues to coordinate activity and maintain consistent brand presentation across customer touchpoints.
  • Maintain brand guidelines and clear positioning for each brand, helping colleagues and external partners apply them consistently.
  • Plan and deliver the agreed annual events calendar, managing logistics, materials, suppliers and budgets, and coordinating with sales on customer engagement and follow-up.
  • Brief and manage external agencies and suppliers, agreeing deliverables, deadlines and costs and reviewing quality and value for money.
  • Maintain accessible, up-to-date customer resources, including POS, menu boards, recipes and brand information, in collaboration with the relevant teams.
  • Develop channel-relevant sales tools, including presentations, brochures, sales kits and campaign materials, that help sales teams communicate the offer effectively.
  • Work with sales and trade marketing to provide tailored brand materials and marketing input for key accounts, tenders and major prospect opportunities.
  • Support product marketing and NPD launches through clear positioning, launch plans, customer communications and sales materials.
  • Manage agreed marketing budgets, monitor spend and evaluate campaign and event performance, sharing recommendations with the Head of Marketing.
  • Contribute ideas, share learning and work collaboratively to improve the quality and effectiveness of marketing across the business.

Education / Qualifications / Training:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence

Person Specification

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in marketing and brand management, ideally within coffee, food and drink, hospitality or a related B2B or FMCG environment.
  • Experience planning and delivering campaigns across digital, print, PR, content and events, with evidence of evaluating results.
  • Experience delivering product launches, brand campaigns or customer marketing initiatives that support commercial objectives.
  • Understanding of customer needs, competitor activity and market trends, and the ability to apply insight to marketing decisions.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, briefing suppliers and monitoring spend and campaign performance.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for customers, colleagues and senior stakeholders.

  • Analytical thinking: Confident interpreting data and feedback to evaluate results and recommend improvements.
  • Digital and content skills: Able to develop clear, engaging brand content and work effectively with digital and design specialists.

Qualifications

  • A degree in marketing, business, communications or a related subject is desirable; equivalent relevant experience is equally valued.
  • A professional marketing qualification, such as CIM, is desirable but not essential.
