We’re looking for an experienced SAP Functional Lead to join Medibank and play a key role in strengthening our SAP functional capability.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced SAP practitioner with strong SAP Industry Solutions experience who can combine deep functional expertise with people leadership, coaching and quality assurance.
You’ll lead a small team of SAP Functional Consultants while remaining approximately 60% hands-on, working across solution design, configuration, analysis, testing and production support.
The opportunity:
Working closely with our SAP Solution Design Leads, you’ll translate solution direction into high-quality functional outcomes and help lift capability, consistency and delivery standards across the SAP practice.
You’ll:
- Lead, coach and develop a small team of 3–4 SAP Functional Consultants
- Remain approximately 60% hands-on across functional design, configuration, testing, implementation and production support
- Apply your SAP Industry Solutions expertise to solve complex business and functional challenges
- Set and uplift functional delivery standards, ways of working and quality expectations
- Review functional designs, specifications, configuration approaches and test outcomes
- Act as an escalation point for complex SAP functional issues
- Work across SAP modules to understand dependencies, integration impacts and end-to-end processes
- Partner closely with SAP Solution Design Leads, Architects, Business Analysts and business stakeholders
- Support complex production issues and drive continuous improvement
- Provide functional oversight and quality assurance across vendor and delivery partner outcomes
About you:
You’re an experienced SAP functional practitioner who has worked in complex enterprise environments and understands how SAP Industry Solutions support industry-specific business processes and requirements.
Importantly, we’re looking for someone with significant hands-on SAP Industry Solutions experience, rather than solely broad SAP functional or people leadership experience.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong, demonstrable experience working with SAP Industry Solutions in complex enterprise environments
- Significant SAP functional consulting experience, typically 10+ years
- Deep expertise in at least one SAP functional domain, with the ability to lead and assure delivery across other modules
- Strong hands-on experience across requirements, functional design, configuration, testing, implementation and production support
- Experience understanding and designing industry-specific SAP processes and solutions
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or coaching SAP Functional Consultants
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes, SAP integration and cross-module impacts
- The ability to review and constructively challenge functional solutions
- Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation and communication skills
- Experience working with external SAP vendors or delivery partners
- The ability to balance people leadership with significant hands-on delivery responsibilities
Experience within financial services, private health insurance or another highly regulated environment would be highly regarded.
