About the Role:
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Older Persons Mental Health for a locum placement in East Toowoomba, QLD. This contract runs from 20 to 31 July 2026, delivering outpatient community-based services with a videoconferencing component. You will join the principal referral hospital for the Darling Downs and South West Queensland regions, a large regional service of approximately 300 beds, providing specialist older persons psychiatric care within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
- Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and management for older persons in outpatient community settings
- Deliver consultations via videoconference to support clients across a geographically dispersed region
- Develop and review treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary mental health team
- Liaise with GPs, families, carers and community services to support coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support clinical decision-making and escalation for complex presentations

About You:
- AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner
- Fellowship with RANZCP or equivalent
- Experience in Older Persons Mental Health (essential)
- Comfortable delivering services via telehealth/videoconference
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Eligible to work in Australia
