Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Accessibility Tester to join our team in Harrisburg, PA. As a Digital Accessibility Tester, you will play a key role in ensuring our digital platforms, customer portals, and tolling services are fully accessible, inclusive, and compliant with accessibility standards for all users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing across websites, documents, software, and web applications to ensure compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1/2.2 AA standards and Section 508 / ADA requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying and suggesting potential solutions to deliver accessible websites, applications, and content on platforms based on the W3C WCAG standards and Mobile Web Best Practices.
  • Utilize assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers like NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and screen magnifiers) and keyboard-only navigation to evaluate user interfaces.
  • Identify, document, and track accessibility defects and usability barriers in defect tracking systems, providing clear remediation guidance to development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with QA leads, UI/UX designers, project managers, and developers to integrate accessibility considerations throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain accessibility test plans, test cases, and compliance summary reports for project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software accessibility testing and digital compliance, ideally in large-scale software or public-sector/transportation environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1/2.2 level A/AA) and relevant accessibility legislation (ADA, Section 508).
  • Hands-on experience with assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack) and accessibility evaluation tools (e.g., axe DevTools, WAVE).
  • Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Experience conducting accessibility testing on multiple platforms and browsers, including iOS and Android mobile devices is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to articulate technical accessibility requirements to non-technical team members.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of quality assurance and specialized accessibility testing experience.
  • Industry certifications such as IAAP CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies) or WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist) are a plus.
  • Experience testing back-office systems, customer payment portals, or public sector applications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Azure DevOps is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
