Role Objective
W We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Sourcing to support procurement activities for the Cement category (Cement, Aggregates & Sand, Bricks & Blocks). The role involves supplier sourcing, commercial negotiations, market analysis, and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement while contributing to category performance and supplier development.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the execution of sourcing strategies for Cement, Aggregates & Sand, Bricks & Blocks.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the vendor base.
- Maintain relationships with cement manufacturers, distributors, and channel partners.
- Assist in commercial negotiations to achieve cost optimization and favorable commercial terms.
- Prepare comparative statements, pricing analysis, and procurement recommendations.
- Track market trends, pricing movements, logistics costs, and regional supply dynamics.
- Coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Project teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and service parameters.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, quality standards, and sustainability requirements.
- Support contract execution, documentation, and vendor performance reviews.
- Generate procurement MIS, spend analysis, and category reports for management review.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization within the sourcing function.
- Operations, Supply chain & Warehouse Teams Effective coordination towards performance of work and execution of requirements. Target brands / Suppliers Negotiation, onboarding, maintaining strong relationships
Work Experience
- 4-8 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain, or Commercial functions
- Significant experience in cement procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and category development (Cement, Aggregates & Sand, Bricks & Blocks)
- Strong understanding of cement manufacturing, distribution networks, and market dynamics.
- Experience working with cement manufacturers, construction companies, real estate developers, EPC organizations, or large procurement functions.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of cement industry economics and supply chains.
- Category planning and supplier development expertise.
- Market intelligence and analytical capabilities.
- Contract management and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related discipline.
MBA in Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, or General Management Desirable
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
