About the Role
We are looking for two experienced and driven Project Managers to lead and manage SAP implementation and support engagements for our clients. This is a mid-level role suited to professionals who have hands-on experience running SAP projects end-to-end — from planning and blueprinting through go-live and hypercare/support — and who can balance schedule, cost, quality, scope, and stakeholder expectations across cross-functional and often geographically distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of SAP implementation and/or AMS (Application Management Support) projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, resource plans, and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients/stakeholders, managing expectations, communicating status, and escalating issues proactively.
- Coordinate with functional and technical consultants (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM, Basis, ABAP, etc.) to ensure alignment across workstreams.
- Manage project governance — steering committee updates, status reporting, change requests, and milestone/stage-gate reviews.
- Track project budgets, effort/cost estimates, and resource utilization; flag variances and drive corrective action.
- Manage scope and change control, ensuring changes are assessed for impact on timeline, cost, and resources before approval.
- Drive risk and issue management, ensuring timely identification, mitigation planning, and resolution.
- For support/AMS engagements: oversee SLA adherence, ticket/incident trends, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate testing cycles (SIT/UAT), cutover planning, go-live readiness, and post go-live hypercare support.
- Mentor and guide junior project coordinators/consultants, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Ensure project documentation, sign-offs, and knowledge transfer artifacts are maintained per organizational and client standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–10 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 3–4 years specifically in SAP project management (implementation, rollout, upgrade, or support).
- Proven track record of managing at least 1–2 full-cycle SAP implementation or S/4HANA migration projects, or multiple ongoing SAP support/AMS engagements.
- Solid understanding of SAP project methodologies — SAP Activate, ASAP, or equivalent implementation frameworks.
- Working knowledge of at least one or more SAP functional/technical areas (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM, Basis) sufficient to engage credibly with consultants and clients.
- Strong command of project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or similar) and reporting/dashboarding practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and client-facing skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership and steering committees.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with experience managing budgets, resource plans, and vendor/subcontractor coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- PMP, PRINCE2, CSM/CSPO, or SAP Activate Project Manager certification is preferred.
Good to Have
- Experience managing SAP S/4HANA Public Edition (GROW) projects
- Experience managing SAP S/4HANA implementation or Greenfield/Brownfield conversion projects.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery models alongside traditional waterfall SAP project structures.
- Prior experience working with global/offshore-onshore delivery teams and multiple time zones.
- Experience in a specific industry vertical relevant to our client base (manufacturing, retail, pharma, etc.).
