Responsibilities

Responsibilities: * Contributes to electrcial team for one or more New Product Development (NPD) projects * Designs electrical circuit schematics for test boards, prototypes, and new product designs * Independantly and creatively develops ideas and solutions to electrical and system design problems * Validates, tests, and debugs circuit boards * Develops printed circuit board (PCB) layout of complex multi\-layer circuit board designs * Completes PCB Gerber file generation, ordering, and design file coordination with fabrication house * Completes surface mount component rework of printed circuit boards and component replacement as needed * Runs and documents electrical and system tests

Qualifications:

**Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics * Knowledge of digital/analog circuit design and communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C * Solid interpersonal skills in design collaboration with the electrical engineering team * Creative Problem Solving Skills * Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools * Strong organizational skills * Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

**Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:** * Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer or other similar software * Knowledge of the PCB/PCBA manufacturing process * Knowledge of electrical design implementation to meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards

**Education and Experience Required:** * Must be pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or other relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET\-accredited program, and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year before beginning this co\-op rotation.
