- develop core algorithms for next generation of autonomous systems and AI-enabled decision making
- build and deliver a production ready squad management system
- integrate our tech with partner companies systems, sensors and drones, and attend trials and demos
- mentor junior team members
Ideal skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have prior expertise in developing autonomous systems technologies and will support us in delivering state-of-the-art autonomy technology.
- Holds an MSc or higher in robotics, autonomous systems, AI/ML or related field
- 3+ years proven experience with robotics or autonomous systems
- 4+ years C++ software development experience, with knowledge of the whole engineering lifecycle
- Experience developing algorithms and technologies in one or more of the following
- autononmous decision making, e.g. behaviour trees, classical planning, RL or Agentic AI
- computer vision, SLAM, sensor fusion and world modelling
- autonomous fleet management
- control systems and mobile robotics
Desirable
Experience of the following
- working with edge compute
- integrating sensors and actuators
- standard Robotics frameworks and middleware
- AI toolsets
Desirable Technical Skills
- Robotics Frameworks: ROS/ROS2, Nav2, MoveIt, Ardupilot, PX4, OMPL, PCL, Zenoh
- Embedded Systems: Arduplilot and PX4 firmware, MAVLink, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN
- Edge: RPi, Jetson, Qualcomm (QRB5), TensorRT
- Simulation: Gazebo, IsFoxglove Studio, RViz2, IsaacSim, UnReal Engine (AirSim)
- Programming & Tools: C++, Python, Git, Docker/Podman, CI/CD, Linux, Claude/Codex/Gemini/Kiro
ML specific skills
- Stochastic processes, behavior trees, FSMs, MDPs
- Learning: RL, Bayesian networks
- Scripting languages: PDDL, RDDL
Pay: £35,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
