We are looking for someone who can serve as a technical lead for our web department—someone who is equally comfortable building a website, troubleshooting a technical problem, maintaining an existing client site, and understanding how that website connects to the rest of a client's marketing and sales ecosystem.

This is not a project management position where website development is simply handed off to someone else.

You need to be capable of actually building websites.

You should be comfortable taking a website from concept through development, launch, ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement. At the same time, we want someone who understands that the website is only one part of a much larger system.

Website Development & Management

A strong candidate should have hands-on experience building and managing professional websites, particularly in WordPress and Shopify environments.

You should be comfortable with:

  • Building complete websites from approved designs, wireframes, or creative direction
  • Developing and maintaining WordPress websites
  • Working extensively with page builders such as Elementor, Divi, or similar tools
  • Building and maintaining Shopify websites and ecommerce functionality
  • Managing domains, DNS, hosting, SSL certificates, staging environments, and website migrations
  • Installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting plugins, themes, and third-party applications
  • Working with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript when a visual builder or platform settings aren't enough
  • Understanding PHP and WordPress architecture well enough to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Creating responsive websites that work correctly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Improving website performance, page speed, usability, and technical health
  • Troubleshooting broken layouts, forms, plugins, integrations, redirects, DNS issues, caching problems, and other website problems
  • Implementing redirects, analytics, pixels, conversion tracking, and other marketing technology
  • Managing website launches and ensuring everything functions correctly before and after going live
  • Performing ongoing website maintenance, updates, backups, security monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Working with SEO team members to implement technical and on-page website changes
  • Reviewing work produced by other developers and helping maintain quality standards across the department

As a Web Lead, you should be able to step into a project when something isn't working, determine what is happening, and help get it across the finish line.

Web Department Leadership

This position will also play an important role in developing the technical capabilities of our web department.

That means being willing and able to:

  • Help establish and maintain website development standards and best practices
  • Review websites and technical work before launch
  • Help other team members troubleshoot difficult technical problems
  • Identify when a problem can be solved internally and when additional development resources are necessary
  • Document processes, configurations, integrations, and technical decisions
  • Help improve our website development and quality assurance processes
  • Train and mentor less-experienced team members
  • Help distribute technical knowledge so that no client or system depends entirely on one person's knowledge
  • Balance multiple client websites, maintenance requests, launches, and technical priorities
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical team members

We aren't looking for someone who needs to know everything. We are looking for someone who knows how to investigate, troubleshoot, test, learn, and solve problems.

If you've never encountered a particular plugin, API, hosting environment, or CRM before, that's okay. You should have enough technical understanding to figure out how the pieces work together.

CRM, Integrations & Marketing Technology

Our websites don't operate independently from the rest of a client's marketing ecosystem.

A strong candidate should understand CRM platforms and how websites connect to them, including how leads, customer information, forms, tracking, automations, and communications move between systems.

You don't necessarily need to be an expert in every CRM on the market, but you should understand how CRM systems work and be comfortable learning, configuring, troubleshooting, and integrating them.

Experience should include or translate well to:

  • Connecting WordPress and Shopify websites with CRM platforms
  • Building and troubleshooting forms and lead-routing processes
  • Mapping form fields and customer data between systems
  • Creating and managing integrations using native connections, APIs, webhooks, or third-party integration tools
  • Understanding pipelines, contact records, custom fields, tags, triggers, and workflows
  • Connecting website activity to automated email, SMS, lead nurturing, and follow-up systems
  • Implementing tracking so we can understand where leads and conversions originated
  • Working with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion tracking, and Meta Pixel
  • Troubleshooting broken integrations or data that isn't flowing correctly
  • Understanding permissions, security, and responsible handling of customer data
  • Testing integrations from the initial website action through the final CRM record
  • Documenting integrations and processes so critical technical knowledge is shared across the team

Experience with platforms such as GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Shopify's customer ecosystem, or similar CRM and marketing automation platforms is valuable.

More importantly, we want someone who understands the logic behind these systems.

If a client says:

"Someone filled out the form, but the lead never made it to our sales team."

You should know how to trace that lead from the website form, through any integrations or automations, into the CRM, through the appropriate workflow or pipeline, and ultimately determine where the process failed.

Similarly, if someone says:

"Our Google Ads account says we're getting conversions, but we're not seeing those leads."

You should be able to investigate the website, tracking implementation, forms, CRM, and conversion configuration to help determine what is actually happening.

Think Beyond the Website

We are especially interested in someone who can look at a website and think beyond individual pages.

Where does the lead go?

What happens next?

Is the CRM receiving the right information?

Can we automate part of this process?

Are we tracking the conversion correctly?

Does the sales team have what they need?

Could these systems work together more intelligently?

And when something breaks: Where did it break, why did it break, and how do we prevent it from happening again?

This role isn't expected to own every CRM, integration, or advanced development project independently. You will work alongside existing leadership and technical resources.

However, we are intentionally building greater technical depth within our team.

We want a Web Lead who can build the website, understand the systems surrounding it, lead other team members, troubleshoot when things go wrong, and help us continuously improve how we build and manage technology for our clients.

The goal is a collaborative technical team where knowledge is shared, problems can be solved by more than one person, and our clients aren't dependent on a single team member to keep critical systems operating.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Flexible schedule
  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
