2. Job Objective
The primary objective of the Area Manager is to increase daily orders from the assigned area and build a strong, sustainable local delivery market for Mangwale.
The person will be responsible for understanding local customer demand, identifying potential customers, monitoring rider requirements, improving customer retention, and ensuring that Mangwale becomes a preferred choice for local delivery needs.
This is not just an operations or supervision role. It is a business growth role with responsibility for measurable results.
3. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Area Growth and Order Generation
- Take complete ownership of the assigned geographical area and its business growth.

- Understand why potential customers are not using Mangwale and develop practical ways to encourage adoption.
- Build strategies to convert first-time customers into repeat customers.
- Identify opportunities to increase order frequency among existing customers.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly order growth in the assigned area.

- Follow up with customers who have registered but have not placed an order.
- Understand why existing customers have stopped ordering and work to bring them back.
- Collect customer feedback regarding delivery time, rider availability, pricing, app experience, and service quality.
- Coordinate with the relevant teams to resolve recurring customer issues.
- Develop relationships with residential societies, offices, and other local communities to create recurring order opportunities.
C. Market Mapping and Opportunity Identification
- Map the assigned area and divide it into smaller localities, clusters, or delivery zones.
- Maintain a structured record of:
- Potential customers and their contact details, where appropriately collected.
- Residential societies, commercial areas, and high-demand locations.
- Expected delivery demand and potential order volumes.
- Current Mangwale customer activity.
- Areas with low customer penetration.
- Peak delivery hours and common delivery routes.
- Competitor service availability and customer preferences.
- Identify locations where Mangwale can generate additional orders with minimal additional operating costs.
- Recommend local marketing activities, customer outreach plans, and other initiatives based on actual market requirements.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the area's growth potential and regularly update the business head.
D. Rider Requirement Planning

- Maintain a rider requirement report showing current availability, expected demand, and additional rider requirements.

- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure that adequate rider capacity is available before increasing customer acquisition.
- Track rider availability, order acceptance, completed deliveries, cancellations, and delivery delays.
- Recommend rider deployment changes based on actual demand patterns.
- Inform management in advance when the area requires additional riders to support growth.

- Track the number of orders generated, accepted, completed, and cancelled in the assigned area.
- Monitor the conversion of potential customers into active customers.
- Identify reasons for order cancellations, unsuccessful pickups, customer unavailability, and failed deliveries.
- Coordinate with operations and the app support team to address recurring problems.
- Monitor repeat orders and identify customers who may be at risk of becoming inactive.
- Study daily performance and take action when results are below target.
- Follow Mangwale's established SOPs for customer handling, reporting, and operations.
- Recommend improvements to the SOP when recurring market problems require management attention.
F. Local Marketing and Business Development
- Identify opportunities for promoting Mangwale within the assigned area.
- Coordinate local customer awareness activities, society outreach, referral initiatives, and targeted promotions.
- Work with the marketing team to execute campaigns that generate measurable orders.
- Track the number of customers acquired and orders generated from each activity.
- Develop local partnerships that can generate recurring delivery demand.
