The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of FP&A and Pricing, the FP&A Analyst is the team's dedicated owner of customer gross profit financial analysis. You will consolidate sales analytics, establishing clear ownership of customer and segment reporting, price/volume/mix analysis, and commercial decision support.
You will be responsible for the full budgeting process, from planning through variance reporting, digging into the data to identify insights that inform commercial decisions. You will work closely with the Sales team, partnering directly with them and building the kind of relationship that makes you a trusted go-to resource for their financial and commercial questions.
Ville Saint-Laurent (Montreal), Quebec, Canada | Hybrid 3 days a week onsite
What You'll Do
Revenue & Commercial Reporting
- Produce monthly customer performance analytics supporting the consolidated management reporting package: gross profit by customer segment (Canada Retail, USA Retail, Mexico Retail, APAC, FS&I), entity, and product category
- Support inclusion of the customer performance analytics in standard monthly reporting packages sent to CEO/CFO
- Leverage AI to build, automate, and maintain customer margin analytics including existing sales dashboards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of customer-level gross profit reporting
- Lead monthly portfolio reviews with Sales Account Managers, reporting on revenue and gross profit performance vs. budget and supporting forward-looking impacts resulting from changes in demand forecasts
Price / Volume / Mix Analysis
- Build and maintain PVM (price/volume/mix) decomposition models to explain period-over-period revenue and margin changes
- Quantify the impact of price changes, SKU cost changes, volume shifts, and customer/product mix changes on revenue and gross profit contribution
- Flag RFP, bid proposals, and crop cycle impacts in PVM analysis - pricing updates drive material price variances that require clear explanation in management reporting
- Identify and explain customer concentration effects - when one major customer's volume shifts materially, the mix impact on consolidated results can be significant
Pricing Analytical Support
- Support the Pricing team with analytical inputs on an as-needed basis: customer volume data, historical revenue trends, and margin context for bid development
- Maintain awareness of the pricing model structure - cost-up builds, landed cost calculations, margin waterfall - sufficient to provide meaningful analytical support without owning pricing decisions
- Assist with post-repricing analysis: comparing realized revenue and margin outcomes to the assumptions in the pricing model
- Assist, as needed, with pricing requests to provide surge capacity to the Pricing team
Budget & Planning Support
- Support the annual budget process by building and maintaining the customer gross profit budget model: volume assumptions by customer and segment, pricing assumptions by crop cycle, and relevant FX rates
- Assist in coordinating revenue budget inputs from the Sales and Pricing teams
- Support scenario analysis on customer gross profit: customer concentration risk scenarios, price change sensitivity, and volume upside/downside modeling
What You Bring
- Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis experience; experience in consumer goods, manufacturing, or retail environments is preferred
- BA in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a similar degree (MBA and/or CPA a plus)
- Hands-on experience with revenue, gross margin, or customer-level analytics
- Experience with at least two full budgeting cycles, from planning through variance reporting
- Strong Excel skills - comfortable building revenue models, PVM bridges, and customer-level reporting templates
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and business partnerships across cross-functional stakeholders
- Analytical and outward-looking mindset - able to identify insights and trends, not just process numbers
- Continuous-improvement mindset, with an interest in using AI and automation to drive efficiency
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, ThoughtSpot or similar) is an asset
- Experience with multi-currency financial data is an asset
- Ability to organize large datasets and present data clearly - outputs flow into executive reporting, where clarity and precision matter
- Organized and reliable - commercial reporting has recurring deadlines tied to the monthly close calendar; on-time delivery is a baseline expectation
- Fluent English is essential, as you will report to a US-based manager and interact with stakeholders globally, including the Sales team in Toronto; French is important given our Montreal presence
What to Expect
- Based in our corporate office in Ville Saint-Laurent (Montreal), hybrid (3 days on-site per week)
- Reports to a US-based manager and works closely with the Sales team, based mainly in Toronto
- A complex, multi-entity private label environment
- Full-time, permanent position (40 hours/week)
- Fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Why Join Us
- Join a growing global company with strong opportunities for career growth and development
- Be part of a supportive and collaborative environment where learning and teamwork matter as much as results
- Contribute to a company committed to providing healthy, sustainable food accessible to millions of people worldwide
