Job Responsibilities
Rack and un-rack, install, and make basic connections for servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and other equipment.
Perform structured cabling at data centers, POP sites, and customer premises, including connecting, dressing, labeling, and link checks for Ethernet cables, fiber optics, and patch cords.
Provide Remote Hands on-site support under the guidance of the NOC or remote technical teams, including equipment reboots, cable plug/unplug, port checks, module replacement, and equipment status confirmation.
Assist with on-site deployment of servers, GPU servers, and network equipment, including device installation, network connections, and basic checks.
Perform daily inspections of data center and POP site equipment, checking device status, indicator lights, cable connections, and cabinet environment.
Assist remote technical teams with basic troubleshooting, and promptly report on-site equipment status, photos, and related information.
Provide Onsite technical support to customers as required by business needs, and support project implementation and on-site maintenance in Singapore, Malaysia, and other regions.
Maintain and update records of equipment, cabling, ports, and related on-site implementation information.
Job Requirements
Background in computer science, information technology, networking, telecommunications, or a related technical field; prior on-site work experience preferred.
Hands-on experience in racking/un-racking servers, switches, and routers, and in data center on-site implementation.
Basic structured cabling skills; familiar with common network connections such as Ethernet cabling, fiber optics, patch cords, and optical modules.
Basic understanding of the functions of switches, routers, firewalls, and servers; advanced network configuration skills are not required.
Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, IP addresses, gateways, Ping, etc.); able to perform simple connectivity checks in coordination with remote engineers.
Basic Linux knowledge or familiarity with common commands; able to perform basic checks and operations under remote guidance.
Good hands-on capabilities; able to independently complete equipment racking/un-racking, cabling, cable dressing, cable adjustments, and module/equipment replacement.
Able to accurately execute on-site operations as instructed by remote technical staff and provide timely feedback.
Willing and able to travel frequently between Singapore and Malaysia to provide on-site technical support in line with project requirements.
Responsible and detail-oriented, with good execution, communication skills, and a strong sense of teamwork.
Experience in data centers, IDC, resident machine-room support, structured cabling, or IT field support is preferred.
