This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with an analytical mind, strong Excel skills, and a strong work ethic who is seeking a career-building opportunity with exposure to nearly all aspects of an established, vertically integrated real estate company that develops, owns and manages its properties, from ground-up development through stabilized operations.

  • Monitor cash balances and forecast cash needs for operations and capital projects

  • Calculate debt compliance covenants (DSCR, debt yield, LTV) and flag potential risks ahead of test dates
  • Assist in the review of annual operating budgets and capital plans prepared by the operating team
  • Gather market data to better understand local markets (occupancy and rate trends, competition, supply pipeline, and absorption)
  • Support the Life Science portfolio by reviewing budgets and financial statements, tracking tenant improvement and leasing costs, and monitoring cash needs and debt covenants
  • Build effective working relationships with internal departments (i.e. accounting, operations, legal, and finance) and our operating partners
  • Work on ad hoc projects and requests as needed

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commercial real estate, or a related field
  • 0-2 years' experience in real estate, financial analysis or accounting; relevant internships count. Senior housing experience strongly preferred; exposure to life science, office or multi-family is a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with Yardi or ARGUS is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable working with senior members of the team and outside partners
  • Self-starter, able to work independently or in a team environment
  • Adaptability – maintains effectiveness across varying tasks, responsibilities and people
  • Learning on the Fly – learns quickly when facing new problems, is open to change, and enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
  • Interpersonal Savvy – relates well to people inside and outside the organization with diplomacy and tact
  • Time Management – uses time effectively and can juggle multiple monthly deadlines
