Test & Validation Engineer (m/w/d)
PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test Planning and Execution:
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software components in EV charging systems.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Automate repetitive testing tasks using appropriate tools and frameworks.
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with developers, product owner, and system engineers to identify and resolve software defects.
- Verify compliance with industry standards, including OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) and other EV charging protocols.
- Ensure the robustness and performance of embedded and application-level software.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document test results, identify bugs, and track their resolution using project management tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA or similar.
- Provide detailed feedback and improvement suggestions for software quality enhancement.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Advocate for testing best practices and contribute to the refinement of QA processes.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in software testing and EV technology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-4+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in embedded systems or IoT applications.
- Experience with EV chargers, renewable energy systems, or automotive software is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or similar.
- Familiarity with communication protocols like OCPP, MQTT, or Modbus.
- API Testing: Experience with automated API testing tools like Postman or REST-assured.
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Soft Skills:
- Fluid business English language skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards improving software quality.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles relevant to EV charging systems.
- Experience with hardware-software integration testing.
- Languages
- Fluent in written and spoken Germany and English.
