Join the Team

As an Associate Data Engineer of our Technology Services team at Data Analytics Service (DAS), you will be responsible to operate and manage our enterprise data, analytics and business intelligence platform, harnessing the power of the lates cloud and BI technologies. Working closely with technology services team members, you will play a pivotal role in the management and operations of our solutions including providing customer support to our platforms.

This position offers a unique chance to make a tangible impact on the delivery of healthcare services, positioning you at the heart of data-driven decision-making and strategic health initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Write code, not just configs: Develop, test and maintain programmatic data pipelines using Python, interacting directly with APIs and AWS services (like S3) via code
  • Write, debug, and optimise complex SQL queries natively in Snowflake-understanding joins, window functions, and execution plans
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, trace data synchronisation drops and implement code fixes
  • Add robust error handling, logging, and automated testing to ensure that the data infrastructure doesn’t quietly fail
  • Collaborate directly with senior engineers to report bugs, document logic flaws, and ensure no pipeline gets deployed without proving it can survive the real world

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Solid Fundamentals: You can explain what your code is doing. You understand Python data structures, exception handling, and how to write efficient scripts
  • Database Literacy: You know the difference between a transactional database and a cloud data warehouse, and you respect the importance of clean data modelling
  • An Engineering mindset: You default to reading documentation when stuck, you test your code, and you are transparent about what you don’t know yet
  • Testing obsession: You have practical experience writing test cases and know how to mock external dependencies. You naturally think what could go wrong. You enjoy finding the edge cases and the silent failures that others miss
  • Constructive communication: You can clearly and objectively articulate why a piece of code failed and point to the exact logic gap causing the issue
