Employment Type: Health Manager Level 2, Permanent

Remuneration: $118,821.00 - $ 140,201.00 per annum, plus 12% superannuation

Hours Per Week: 38

About the Opportunity

  • Join a team specialising in exploratory data analysis and producing insights used to inform decision making and drive meaningful change in the NSW cancer healthcare system.
  • Perform data validation and quality assurance of cancer and cancer-related data, analyses and reports, while effectively collaborating and communicating with a range of stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardised code and templates, ensure programmes used to produce report outputs use efficient, automated, and repeatable code and functions that are stored in repositories with secure version control.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience managing, analysing, and summarising data and the production of charts, tables, and dashboards.
  • Strong skills and experience in R and SQL programming languages. Experience in Power BI and building Shiny applications will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in version control and use of GIT software.
  • Tertiary qualifications in public health, computer science, data science, statistics, information management or other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience working with modern data platforms and analytics environments, including data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based solutions. Experience with Snowflake and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is highly regarded.

Pre-Screening Questions

  • Please provide an example where you turned data into actionable insights using R programming. Describe the end-to-end process you undertook to achieve this.
  • Please give us an example of complex reporting or intelligence product you have worked on in the past and its purpose. Please share the whole process from gathering requirements, data extraction through to production deployment.
  • Provide an example of an analysis you have conducted where you identified a data quality issue. What steps did you take to clean the data and what measures did you take following the finding of a data quality issue?
