Where you'll be working

Join the Department of Renal and Transplantation Medicine at Westmead Hospital, where accurate clinical data and reporting play a vital role in supporting renal dialysis and transplantation services. Working alongside clinicians, researchers, data professionals and technology specialists, you will contribute to the integrity, analysis and reporting of clinical information that supports service delivery, research and quality improvement.

  • Be part of a specialised clinical service spanning renal dialysis, kidney transplantation, and pancreas and islet transplantation.
  • Work with key national registries, including the Australian and New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Registry (ANZDATA) and the National Pancreas Transplant Registry (NPTR).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders across participating health services and registry partners.
  • Contribute to clinical reporting, research, audit and service improvement initiatives that support evidence-based healthcare.

What you'll be doing

As the Analyst, you will manage critical clinical databases and national registry information, ensuring data is accurate, complete and reported within required timeframes. Combining analytical expertise, database management and stakeholder engagement, you will help translate complex clinical activity data into meaningful reports and insights for clinicians and senior leaders.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate the collection, validation, auditing and submission of renal dialysis, kidney transplant, pancreas and islet transplant data for ANZDATA and the National Pancreas Transplant Registry.
  • Analyse clinical activity data and develop accurate, timely reports, dashboards and graphical presentations to support research, clinical audits, service planning and Activity Based Funding requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the RISC database, identify and resolve data quality issues, develop collection procedures and collaborate with IT specialists to enhance system functionality and performance.
  • Prepare annual pancreas and islet transplantation reports, support the Clinical Director and senior staff with data analysis and presentations, and develop tools to monitor clinical activity and performance indicators.
  • Build strong relationships with clinicians, registry partners and IT professionals, providing database training, user support and guidance to promote consistent data collection and reporting practices.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must have high level analytical skills in statistical software such as SAS, R, STATA
  • Must have high level database management skills in MS-ACCESS, EXCEL, SQL and business intelligence software.
  • Demonstrated high level technical expertise and experience in data systems, assessing information requirements, data extraction and analysis, activity and performance report creation and benchmarking.
  • Demonstrated effective time management, delegation and problem-solving skills and demonstrated effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and demonstrated ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of information privacy in a Health setting
  • Current Australian driver's licence (including P1 or above) and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving across the LHD’s of WS and NBMLHD
