POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Manager, Video will lead New York City FC’s video content strategy, production operations, and creative execution across all Club-owned and operated platforms. Working closely with the Director, Content, this role is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, platform-first video content that grows audiences, drives fan engagement, strengthens brand affinity, and supports key organizational priorities. This position oversees the end-to-end video production process, including ideation, pre-production, production, post-production, asset management, and distribution. The Senior Manager, Video will lead a team of video producers, freelancers, and external production partners while ensuring all content aligns with the Club's brand standards, business priorities, and creative vision. The role is responsible for driving video storytelling across New York City FC First Team, Academy & Youth Programs, Etihad Park, City in the Community, Partnerships, and other Club initiatives, with a focus on creating content that resonates with fans, drives media value, and performs across evolving social platforms.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Play a key role in creating and publishing innovative digital content for New York City FC social media channels:* Oversee a team of video producers & video production planning across First Team, Academy & Youth Programs, Etihad Park, City in the Community, Partnerships, and other club initiatives.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Club's video production staff, freelancers, and external production partners.
- Brainstorm innovative video concepts for always-on organic content, branded content, marketing campaigns, events, and milestones, incorporating platform-specific trends and best practices.
- Identify and test emerging content formats, production techniques, and storytelling approaches to keep New York City FC's content ecosystem fresh, relevant, and engaging.
- Utilize strong project management and organizational skills, including effective use of Asana, to oversee production timelines, coordinate with stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and ensure all video deliverables are completed on time, and to the highest creative and technical standards.
- Translate marketing and creative briefs into thoughtful, story-driven video executions that align with the club’s creative and brand direction.
- Oversee studio and field productions, ensuring excellence in camera operation, lighting, audio, production logistics, and overall quality control.
- Serve as a hands-on producer and editor when needed, creating content optimized for club-owned channels.
- Work closely with Match Presentation to provide consultation for in-stadium video initiatives, ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, storytelling, and brand standards across videoboards, LED displays with other Club-owned channels.
- Lead the Club's video asset management strategy, including organization, archiving, metadata standards, and long-term video content preservation to ensure all footage, project files, and finished assets are properly stored and accessible for future usage
- Champion innovation by identifying and testing emerging video tactics, platform capabilities, and AI-powered tools that strengthen content creation to keep New York City FC's social presence fresh, relevant, and forward-thinking.
- Utilize audience insights, content analytics, and platform performance data to optimize video strategy and inform future creative decisions.
- Infuse the New York City FC content team with new ideas, forward thinking, and a passion for content execution.
- Follow brand guideline specifications and ensure consistency on quality during production
WHO YOU ARE: 7+ years of professional video production experience, preferably within sports, entertainment, media, or another high-volume content environment.
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing direct reports through coaching, constructive feedback, and professional development planning and fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Experience providing clear creative direction and actionable feedback throughout content processes, from concept development through final delivery.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to oversee multiple productions and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Advanced knowledge of professional video production workflows, including camera operation, lighting, audio, post-production, and content delivery.
- Deep understanding of social and digital content strategies, audience behaviors, and platform-specific best practices across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and emerging channels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative concepts, shape editorial direction, and oversee content from ideation through production, post-production, and distribution.
- Experience managing production budgets, vendor relationships, resource planning, contracts, and production schedules.
- Knowledge of content performance measurement and reporting, with experience leveraging analytics platforms to inform creative decisions and optimize results.
- Passion for soccer and a strong understanding of MLS, global football culture, and the New York sports landscape.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, matchdays, and travel as required.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
COMPENSATION:
This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $85,000 - $90,000 and is not overtime eligible. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
