Job Summary:
As a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize enterprise data integration, warehousing, and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including building scalable data pipelines, developing data models, and delivering reliable analytics and reporting solutions. You will manage and optimize Microsoft Fabric Capacity (F64), integrate enterprise data sources such as SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and Microsoft SQL Server, and collaborate with architects, BI developers, and business stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory to ingest, cleanse, and transform data from multiple enterprise sources.
- Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data models and warehousing solutions using Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse (Synapse).
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and data visualizations to support business intelligence and analytics requirements.
- Manage and monitor Microsoft Fabric Capacity (F64), including workload optimization, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
- Integrate and transform enterprise data from SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Optimize Power BI and Microsoft Fabric workloads to ensure data accuracy, performance, scalability, and efficient resource utilization.
- Collaborate with data architects, BI developers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data engineering and reporting solutions.
- Apply best practices in data quality, error handling, data governance, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
- Utilize Azure Data Platform services, including Data Lake, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage, to support end-to-end data workflows.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, data models, Power BI solutions, and platform configurations.
Job Specifications:
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or similar roles.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, particularly Fabric Data Factory, Fabric Data Warehouse, and Fabric Capacity Management (F64), including monitoring and performance optimization.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI, including report and dashboard development, data modeling, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL processes and SSAS for analytical data modeling and OLAP/tabular solutions.
- Experience integrating SAP data, including CDS Views and table extractions, and working with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong SQL development skills and experience optimizing queries and performance on large datasets.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Platform components, including Data Lake, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage.
- Solid understanding of data modeling and data warehouse architectures, including star and snowflake schemas.
- Experience designing end-to-end data solutions that integrate data engineering, business intelligence, and enterprise reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating Power BI with Microsoft Fabric workloads and optimizing end-to-end analytics solutions.
- Familiarity with SAP connectors, Open Hub, or third-party data extraction tools.
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices for data workflows, including Git and deployment pipelines.
- Knowledge of data security, governance, and access management in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure.
