**Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience**

**This is a temporary, part time position working approximately 24 hours per week, and ending on October 15, 2026\.**

Third or fourth year college student pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or recent graduate.

Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver’s license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3\) years.

**Nature of Work**

Under general supervision, this position supports the County’s budget and financial operations with a focus on budget process improvements and projects related to financial systems and the effective use of existing technology to increase efficiency. The role includes a mix of self\-directed work and collaboration, providing support to staff managing the County budget and financial systems. This position contributes to a workplace culture that values diversity, respect, and inclusion.

**Examples of Work**

--------------------

* Supports the budget process improvement work with ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the budget. * Assists the Assistant Controller dedicated to the budget process in the development of costs and annual budget preparation (including analysis of historical revenues and expenses) * Prepares journal entries, reviews reports, and verifies transactions for accuracy. May involve reconciliation, support of accounts payable, and accounts receivable. * Gathers and processes budget details to provide the basis for interim and year\-end financial statements and reports; and additional projects as needed. * Makes recommendations and assists in the implementation of initiatives to enhance/streamline processes and better utilize technology. * Prepares and maintains organized procedures and documents process improvement steps. * Shares process improvement techniques with other Finance staff and maintains critical connections with other County Staff. * Performs other duties as required.
