Summary
As the Lead Brand Designer on OneHope's Communications team, you'll be responsible for shaping how millions of people experience our mission around the world.
This is not a traditional graphic design role. We're looking for a multidisciplinary designer who is equally comfortable creating compelling print publications, digital experiences, websites, creative visual campaign assets, event environments, presentations, motion graphics, AI-assisted creative, and emerging media.
You'll combine creative and strategic thinking with exceptional visual execution, helping evolve OneHope's brand while pushing creative boundaries. We want someone who sees possibilities others don't—someone who can transform ideas into memorable experiences across every platform where our audience encounters our ministry.
This is a senior contributor role with significant creative influence. You'll collaborate with marketers, developers, writers, ministry leaders, photographers, and videographers while serving as one of the organization's creative leaders. You'll establish creative standards, mentor other designers and field team members, and continually test and introduce new tools, technologies, and ideas that elevate visual our work.

Continually evolve and modernize the organization's visual identity, design systems, templates, asset libraries, and brand standards.

Develop creative concepts that communicate complex ideas through compelling visual storytelling.

Create original, concept-driven work that strengthens the brand rather than relying on templates or design trends.

Build and maintain internal branded resources that empower staff and ministry partners to produce high-quality, on-brand communications.

Provide creative direction and constructive feedback to junior designers, regional designers, freelancers, agencies, and external creative partners.

Lead creative reviews to ensure every visual expression reflects excellence, clarity, and the mission of OneHope. Digital & Web Design

Partner with the Director of Marketing, developers, and cross-functional teams to create engaging digital experiences that inspire action.

Lead the creative direction for OneHope's website, landing pages, campaign microsites, email marketing, and other digital touchpoints.

Design responsive user experiences that balance beautiful visual design with usability, accessibility, and measurable performance.

Apply UI/UX best practices to improve engagement, navigation, and conversion.

Design digital marketing assets for social media, digital advertising, presentations, email campaigns, and donor communications.

Ensure designs meet international accessibility and contrast standards-Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) - while maintaining visual excellence across diverse audiences and devices.

Collaborate closely with developers to ensure design integrity throughout implementation.

Printed Collateral Materials

Design exceptional print materials including annual reports, impact reports, donor communications, brochures, ministry resources, books, newsletters, presentations, event collateral, direct mail campaigns, among others.

Lead the visual direction for OneHope's signature events, conferences, donor gatherings by designing cohesive print and environmental experiences.

Develop signage, environmental graphics, displays, and other large-format applications that extend the OneHope brand into physical spaces.

Review and maintain quality standards for printed materials produced by regional teams and external partners.

Edit, retouch, and enhance photography for use across print and digital communications.

Apply a strong understanding of typography, color management, print production, paper selection, finishes, and production methods to ensure exceptional final products. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with writers, marketers, developers, videographers, photographers, ministry leaders, and executive leadership to translate strategic goals into compelling visual communications.

Participate in planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, and creative discussions that shape communication strategies.

Present creative concepts with confidence and clearly communicate design rationale to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.

5+ years of progressive professional design experience, ideally within a digital marketing agency, in-house creative team, or mission-driven organization.

Demonstrated expertise designing across multiple mediums, including digital, web, print, environmental graphics, presentations, events, and emerging digital platforms.

Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and familiarity with After Effects or other motion design tools.

Working fluency with AI-powered creative tools—including Adobe Firefly's generative features (Generative Fill, Generative Recolor, Text to Vector) and at least one image-generation platform such as Midjourney, DALL·E, or similar—used confidently as part of the creative workflow.

Proven experience designing for both digital (websites, landing pages, email, social media, digital campaigns) and print (annual reports, brochures, newsletters, event collateral, publications), with a solid understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design.

Experience creating and editing motion graphics, video assets, and on-screen graphics for live and virtual events.

Working knowledge of international accessibility standards, including color contrast, readability, and inclusive design best practices across diverse audiences and regions.

Strong understanding of typography, layout, branding, visual storytelling, and creative problem-solving.

A portfolio demonstrating exceptional conceptual thinking, original creative work, and excellence across both digital and print media. Portfolio submission is required as part of the application process. Preferred (Nice to Have)

Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and collaborating with web developers.

Experience with Figma, Ceros, or other collaborative and interactive design platforms.

Experience using AI-powered video and motion tools such as Runway, Sora, or Adobe Premiere Pro's generative features.

Familiarity with AI-assisted prototyping and interface design tools such as Figma AI, v0, Lovable, or similar emerging platforms.

Understanding of intellectual property, copyright, licensing, and commercial-use considerations related to generative AI.

Experience providing creative direction, mentoring, or reviewing the work of junior designers, freelancers, agencies, or contractors.

Experience designing immersive event experiences, environmental graphics, or experiential marketing.

Familiarity with nonprofit, ministry, international, or mission-driven marketing organizations.

A demonstrated passion for emerging technologies, continuous learning, and exploring new approaches to visual communication.
Work Environment
- Monday through Friday, standard business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with flexibility to accommodate a 40-hour work week.
- Our work serves a global ministry, requiring occasional flexibility to collaborate with teams across multiple time zones.
- Periodic domestic and international travel may be required to support ministry initiatives, conferences, donor events, and strategic projects.
