Operations Manager — Sand N Wheels Play Café (Alpharetta, GA) Full-time · On-site · Weekend availability required · Reports to ownership · $50,000–$60,000 + bonus
Read this part first. Sand N Wheels is a first-of-its-kind indoor play café — an RC excavator pit, a large sensory sandbox, an espresso-forward specialty café, and private birthday parties.
The owners are deeply involved in strategy, brand, and the big calls — but we are not on the floor day to day. That means you are the person our families, our team, and our vendors deal with. You open and close the building, run the shifts, and handle it when a Saturday goes sideways. We'll back you, coach you, and give you real room to build — but we won't be standing next to you while you do it. If that makes you nervous, this isn't your role. If that excites you, keep reading.
What you'll own:
- The building — opening and closing across café, sandbox, and RC pit, and everything in between.
- The team — onboarding and cross-training every Community Host to one standard across café, POS, RC sessions, sandbox floor, party execution, and check-in. You set the standard by working alongside them, not from a chair.
- The bar — running our espresso bar (training will be provided), and training the team on our full menu: espresso and milk drinks, our signature lattes, and other refreshers. We're espresso-forward, not a cooking kitchen.
- Parties — birthday parties and private events, start to finish.
- Food safety & cleanliness — ServSafe Manager (required or obtained within 60 days — we sponsor), deep-clean schedules, receiving and rotation.
- Reporting up — daily numbers, incidents, cash, and staffing, on your own initiative, without being chased.
- The first 60–90 days — you help build the playbook with us.
What we need:
- 2+ years leading a shift or floor in café, restaurant, QSR, retail, or a kids'/experience venue — ideally as the most senior person on-site.
- Sound judgment with no one over your shoulder. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and problem-solver attitude.
- Reliable — on time, every time.
- Genuinely likes kids and families; stays warm and friendly with visiting families.
- On your feet 6+ hours; lifts to 40 lbs. Weekends availability needed.
- Reliable transportation to Alpharetta (McGinnis Ferry Rd).

Pay: $50,965.62 - $61,377.95 per year
