Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee, streamline, and manage end-to-end logistics and transport operations for RK Road Transport Line. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fleet management, route planning, driver supervision, cost optimisation, and ensuring regulatory compliance to maintain smooth, safe, and profitable transport operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Fleet & Operations Management:
- Plan, organise, and manage daily freight transportation, route dispatching, and cargo loading schedules.
- Oversee vehicle tracking (GPS monitoring) to ensure timely deliveries and minimal idle time.
- Monitor fleet maintenance schedules, repair work, and breakdown assistance to minimise downtime.
- Driver & Personnel Management:
- Recruit, manage, and supervise drivers, mechanics, and operational staff.
- Conduct safety briefings, assign shifts, and manage driver trip allowances, performance, and duty logs.
- Ensure strict adherence to safe driving practices and road safety norms.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with state and national transport regulations (permits, pollution certificates, insurance, fitness, RTO compliance, e-way bills).
- Oversee accurate documentation including Consignment Notes (LRs), trip sheets, gate passes, and delivery proofs (PODs).
- Cost Control & Financial Efficiency:
- Monitor fuel consumption, trip expenses, toll costs, and maintenance budgets to control operational costs.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements to optimise transport margins.
- Vendor & Client Relations:
- Coordinate with clients to gather transport requirements, address service issues, and maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Manage relationships with local vendors, spare part suppliers, and third-party transport contractors.

- On-Time In-Full (OTIF) Delivery Performance
- Fleet Utilisation Rate (%)
- Vehicle Maintenance & Breakdown Costs
- Fuel Efficiency and Trip Cost Optimisation
- Compliance Rate (Zero regulatory penalties)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent operational experience).
- Experience: 3–7+ years of hands-on experience in road transport, logistics, or fleet operations.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Indian road transport networks, RTO rules, and logistics workflows.
- Proficiency in transport management software (TMS) and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and crisis-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in Hindi and local/regional languages.
