About The Role
Optimal® is an Aberdeen-based asset integrity and reliability company. We are appointing a senior RBI and Fitness-for-Service Engineer to deliver risk-based inspection and fitness-for-service assessments on upstream oil and gas assets, supported by our OptimalIntegrity Studio™ software platform. You will work as part of a small, specialist project team on a fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities
Perform fitness-for-service assessments to API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 on pressure equipment, piping and pipelines, including corrosion, pitting, cracking and mechanical damage.
Respond to critical fitness-for-service requests within 48 hours and planned requests within 10 business days.
Develop and maintain risk-based inspection programmes to API 580 and API 581, including damage mechanism review to API 571, probability and consequence of failure, and inspection planning.
Review inspection findings and integrity operating window exceedances, and issue clear recommendations for repair, re-rating, monitoring or run-to-failure.
Manage and quality-check inspection data in an inspection data management system, keeping data rejection below 2%.
Produce concise, auditable technical reports and present findings to client engineering teams.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in asset integrity, with direct RBI and fitness-for-service experience on oil and gas assets.
Current API 579 certification.
Working knowledge of API 580 and API 571 (certification desirable).
Experience using an inspection data management system or integrity management software.
Degree in mechanical, materials, chemical or corrosion engineering, or equivalent.
Fluent written and spoken English; strong technical report writing.
Desirable
API 510, API 570 or API 653 certification.
Experience with offshore deepwater assets or West African operations.
Familiarity with SAP Plant Maintenance work order workflows.
